FWIW, I can see how a parent who lost a child would push to have another to fill the void left by the death of one child or all of their children.
I can understand that, I would not consider it sick but only natural.

Thank you for discounting my opinion- it's now 75 percent off!
The lord also put the good invitro doc on the planet, please credit him for that?

Blue,
Your observation is correct!
I have to add that some areas with the most 'upper crust' habitants are also morally bankrupt.![]()

Ok, I don't feel like going back and reading 17 pages of this thread but I'd like to know who referred to the children as replacements anyhow?![]()

I saw a quick clip on her last evening, I believe. It was an interview with her PR agent - former PR agent. She (the agent) mentioned death threats and crude comments being passed through the agent to the Mom. I think I saw a comment from the Mom that she never expected such horrible reactions.
Well, it is too late to get a re-do on this. Isn't it!
I hope some rich soul steps in and gives this lady help with her children. I don't think too many "ordinary folks" will be doing so, from the looks of it. It won't be me, that's for sure.
I did see a clip of her first six children and boy are they good looking children. They looked loved and happy. I suspect the G-parents get lots of the credit for that. Then you add the next eight to the mix and it equals disaster as far as I am concerned.
Maybe she should move to a farm and start putting all those kids to work on the land! Isn't that how it was in the early pioneer years? Even the toddlers worked, feeding the chickens.
California is not the place for this woman and her crew.
I do believe the limelight has come to bite her in the butt.
Maybe she can move in with Richard and his cat.![]()
I guess the problem has been, some of us have no problem using the term replacement when it comes to a child and others find it highly offensive.
Not exactly......that is a part of the discussion...but the contention is because one poster has said there is something ...I am not sure of the exact words...but sick or perverted about having more children when you have lost yours. The poster suggested they should just go on an lead a "normal" life.
Yes, the word "replacement" strikes some as offensive but far more offensive is to suggest, as this poster did, that there is something selfish and wrong about having more children.
Here's ONE quote made about this couple who lost their children and were able to have more children through in-vitro...
The three kids born to the crash mom ARE REPLACEMENTS. That woman was just as effing goofy as the OCTOMOM
What octomom did is sick.
Replacing a child that died with a new child, its a natural urge and I can understand it.
But to replace 3 children with 3 new kids all at once, thats a bit out there. RICHARD may call it sick or selfish, I call it questionable.
ANd then?
What say the benevolent woman of the US of A that will go to bat about not letting the gobierno dictate what they can and cannot do to their bodies...
I have enough room for the litter, They could come and stay at my California spead and dude rance.
LOLOL, would any of you other high and mighty posters do it for the kids and not so much for the Mom? I love the one sidedness of the issue and all the AHs that threaten her life. To think I share the planet with effing morons like that.
I could really give a shiat about the mother.
I care more for the poor kids and the darn shame that they cannot live a normal life with this kook.

I have to say something else that cracks me up.
During the election I got some crap about some stupid candidate not wearing a flag pin......
Now some of the comments are directed at the OM's nail job.
Get a grip on your bad selves and "stop making sense".
I haven't seen this much confusion since I looked into the blender while I was cooking.

LOLOLOLOLOL,
What do you call a mom that has triplets to take the place of the three she lost in an accident?
You don't call her, she has her hands full with three kids at once.
I just walked away and thought about how chance may have shaken YOUR family tree and this NUT had fallen out.
Blood and all that good stuff would make yuo defend her to the end, as much you do with the sister, SIL, friend of other gal that does for an IVF.
Hey, it's the greatest! She did it! What a mom! We are all tickled pink about the woman who was able to have kids when science intervened!
Have fun at the baby shower and congratulate her on a job well done!
But let some fruitcake toss out a litter and all hell breask lose! What a sorrowful figure the mo who loses her brood in an accident then turns to science-not god-to fill her heart with another tri-umpant addition to her family.
And she only had to go the hospital once! I guess I could go find another mom and dad to take the place of my parents who are deceased. Hell, I might be able to get a dad with hair this time!
-----
Get those IVF laws passed so we don't have any more circus deliveries done and when the time come that one of your woman friends has to navigate the NEW LAWS that prohibit a woman who really wants kids, can afford them and has short nails, get up in arms all over again and complain about the 'law' that says they cannot get a decent chance at having a normal delivery.
IVF doesn't work with some women unless there are multiple empbryos implanted, This woman took it to the extreme, but when the law gets involved everyone will be screaming bloody murder all over again.
.
This whole story is not so much about the fruity nutcake who keeps going back for more babies, it's the law, the ethics and the people who can't make up thier minds about what they want.
IT's also about the babies, THey had no choice about showing up in Bellflower, CA-I am sure they would understand the hate and the death threats tossed at mom.
I don't know anything about birthing kids, But, I have changed more diapers and seen more newborn peepee and va-jay-jay changing diapers than a first year pediatric urologist.
Being born into one of those crazy Catholic and Mexican families you tend to get schooled in "small kid/baby/newborn" pretty quickly.
I am sure it would suit some people just find to have some of the OctoKids
die off, WOuldn't that save us tax payers any future contributions to this mess?

No humans were hurt during the posting of this message.
You really need to read the thread. She used invitro. She was older so they implanted three embryos with the hope that one would "take." That is what is done with older women. It happened that all three did. That is very unusual in a woman of her age. (I mentioned a friend of mine who is over 40 so they implanted five in hope one would take. Sadly, and far more commonly, none did.)
This couple did not, as has been stated repeatedly, attempt to have three children. That is what happened.
In case you think of the 49 year old woman. Those were not her eggs. They were the eggs of a woman in her 20's so the eggs were much more viable.
1 egg or 3, IV or turkey baster. Its replacement.
