I have always been in love with that boy of yours. He is an amazing looking dog.
Man, if he used that face he has in the 2nd picture around here, he would be able to get away with just about anything! =D

He'll be 5 years old on June 16th...man times flies!

i do love my yard but havent gotten to enjoy it much this year but i hope to!

thanks for all the compliments on Eli.
everybody has different view points on how lean a dog should be and that's okay, like i said i keep him very lean and fit but i dont like to see his spine so just a couple more pounds back on him and he'll be perfect in my eyes

Glad someone else commented on the weight.. I was wondering as well.
I think some ribs is ok, like the last few before the waist.
But not the spine... But I understand.
Our Eli was a thin one when we got him.

Funny thing is.. we call him 'Fat Head' too.

One Eli saying HI to another! =)

What a kissable face. I have to agree with some of the others. I would like to see an extra couple of pounds on him if he were mine. When I brought Ripley home from the shelter he looked like that and the girls there had written "thin" on his paperwork. He was 11 lbs. and now is 14 lbs. and just perfect.

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.
    I miss you

I hear you whimper in your sleep
I gently pet you and say, no bad dreams
It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.

I see so many "thin" dogs at the Bark Park, especially Boxers and GSDs, but Man! are they active! And to me, they look like fit running machines. Mz Klo fluctuates a few pounds. She does love her "cookies". (A nose out the door, is as good as a real "pee". hence, a cookie or 2 or 10 minutes of wooing and talking to me)

Your FatHead is one handsome boy!

He's one of my favorites on Pet Talk, I always love seeing him. I am the same way with Finn that you are with Eli, we keep him fit and lean, and people always say he's too skinny. On occasion, they're right, if he's working really hard without an increase in his food. But, usually it's just because they're using to seeing thick labs. We have to watch Finn, though, too, to keep him at the right weight.

    Eli, I you!

    He's a very handsome boy!

I wanted to warn you about something though that I noticed in the picture. Did you happen to get that red tie out from Walmart (Kmart?) I had the same tie out and used it with good results until my guy saw a squirrel one day. Now, he knows his boundaries when he's on the cable, he doesn't pull against it or anything. He just went running towards the squirrel, lost track of where he was I guess, and the cable snapped clean in the middle. There was no prior damage to the cable, no kinks or chewing through the vinyl covering the cable. It just snapped in half with a little exertion on his behalf.

Just wanted to warn you! I've since purchased a much sturdier cable for his potty breaks. Thank God he has a good recall, and that I was out there with him when it happened (why I always supervise!). It could've been scary.

What a healthy looking, handsome boy!! He's a fine specimen of a doggie!! I also like a little extra poundage and it sounds like you've got a great plan for that sweet boy.

    Thanks Barry!
