They say the death toll is now over 12,000. So sad! At least their government is welcoming help from other countries.

This is so sad, so many died and so many schools were crushed, my girlfriend's son is living in a high rise in Taiwan and he said he felt it and the building was swaying, that is scarey.

With this and burma things are looking bad,so many tragic events happening in t he world and to those who have so little in the first place, my heart goes out to them.

The Beijing media machine still rolls on. They issued a press release that none of the event venues were damaged...

Well, Beijing IS on the other end of the country ... Maybe they know that most people don't know how large, geographically, China is. If an earthquake hit New Orleans, I doubt New York officials would feel obliged to tell everyone Yankee Stadium was still okay ...
