Oh Kirsten, we will miss you too. But thinking positively, it's probably a good thing for you, to take some distance with certain things of your daily life.

I am glad your kitties will have your mom's visit. Don't worry for them. Of course you will miss them but they don't have the same notion of time as humans have. For them it will not be for so long. When you are back they will great you as if you would just have left for work. Take a lot of pics of them with you

Sending you postcards is a good idea. If you want to give us an address where to send them we will think about you

    Kirsten,

All paws and claws are crossed that this is what you need to help you get back on your feet and on with your life. Your precious girls will miss you, as you will them, however, think about how much better things will be when you get home

We'll all be praying and cheering for you - hold that thought

As everyone else has said, it will be difficult for you to be away from your fur babies. But, if you don't take good care of yourself now - you won't be able to care for them properly in the future. They will miss you - but they aren't going to forget you!

You have my prayers that this "time out" for you will be healing and put you on the right track for a healthy new start.

Oh Kirsten, I'm sad for you, as well I know missing those two special dates will be so hard. And at times of stress, we need our animals even more. Will you have computer access so you can check in? Please pm me with where you'll be and I can send you a card. I hope the time goes fast and that you feel much better at the end of it.

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.
    I miss you

I hear you whimper in your sleep
I gently pet you and say, no bad dreams
It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.

Fur as dark as the night.

In my heart you'll forever be.

How I wish I could hold you near.
Turn back time to make it so.
Hug you close and never let go.

Kirsten it makes me sad to hear you are having all these problems- but on the other hand I think it is a great chance for you to overcome them.
Don't try to worry too much about the girls- I have been away for up to five weeks on vacation and as long as they have their territory Filou and Tigris feel very well.
I am sure Luna and Lily will be very velcro once you come back.
Where will you be going? Is it near your town? Do you think your parents would take cards with them and send them to you if we send it to your home address?
All my best wishes- I think this will be a great approach to really getting better

Try not to stress out over this, there will be angels watching over your furkids while you are away, Kirsten. Of course we'll miss you too, but I can't think of a better reason to be away than to heal and recover. You so deserve relief from these health issues. We'll be praying for you. ((hugs))

Kirsten, I think it will do you good to go to a hospital/health resort - if you can stop worrying about Luna and Lily. They will be fine I'm sure. Write a list to your mom about food, treats, water, litterbox, habits - everything you can think of, and make her promise to keep you updated.

I have just been away for a week, with Fister alone in my flat, and I have to admit I was a little worried at times, but my neighbor came in twice a day to feed him and cuddle, and when I came he was just fine, although very velcro!

I hope this will be the beginning of a better life for you. Try not to worry so much, you can't change things anyway, so you might as well let go and enjoy your treatment. You, Luna and Lily will survive this too!

    Have a wonderful relaxed time!

    (((hugs)))

Just a note: Accepting something does not mean you have to like it.

"And acceptance is the answer to all my problems today. When I am disturbed, it is because I find some person, place, thing or situation-some fact of my life-unacceptable to me, and I can find no serenity until I accept that person, place, thing or situation exactly the way it supposed to be at this moment. Nothing, absolutely nothing, happens in God´s world by mistake...unless I accept life completely on life´s terms, I cannot be happy. I need to concentrate not so much on what needs to be changed in the world as on what needs to be changed in me and in my attitudes.
"Shakespeare said, ´All the world´s a stage and all the men and women merely players.´...acceptance [has] taught me that there´s a bit of good in the worst of us and a bit of bad in the best of us; that we are all children of God and we each have a right to be here. When I complain about me or about you, I´m complaining about God´s handiwork. I am saying that I know better than God."

Oh Kirsten, I know it will be hard, but when you come home, and things will be better, it will all have been worth it.

Kirsten, I think the break and rest will do you so much good! You will feel so rested and full of energy when you get back to your girls! I know it's hard to think of leaving them right now, but they will be fine!
