    Mac or PC

Ok, i was wondering this: Since most of you know that im getting $500 next weekend, i was going to buy an brand new hp desktop. But i looked on Ebay and found Mac laptops like ibook g4's for insanely low prices. I was wondering, is an mac as good as i hear? Also all of the schools computers are some form of macs.

I have seen a lot of Mac users swear by their laptops.

I do not care for Macs, personally.

After all the flack in the thread that is now locked, all the advice telling you to buy a whitebox PC ignored because you swore you'd only buy HP, ad nauseum.....

    Now you start this?

Macs are great but beware buying one from eBay if you know nothing about them. Some of the low priced ones down here also have very low specs too, not enough RAM, too small hard drive etc. If it won't run OSX don't buy it.

My 4 reasons for an mac:
    • We live in an apartment so space is tight but most of the desktop macs are all in one
    • I like the graphics
    • i hear that Mac OS X is more stable and there are less security holes than Windows, especially vista
    • You can find them good but cheap on Ebay
    • My desktop went south yesterday and i no longer want Windows
    • And i also hear that the Mac laptops have great battery life, like 4 hours
