    You are so lucky!
    I am so jealous.
Please post as many photos of her as possible.
What are your plans for her?
Riding English or Western, Horse Shows or Breeding,
    or all of the above?
CONGRATULATIONS on the beautiful new addition to your family.
(If I were you, I would just ride her bareback, I wouldn't be able to wait for USPS.)

Tux kitties and tux horsies... nuthin' better, huh?

Plans? Well... ride, ride, ride right now! lol (Or rather, as soon as my saddle/saddle parts come in. ) She's still pretty green - doesn't neck rain, hasn't quite picked up on the leg pressure thing yet either - goes pretty well by voice commands though. (Guess "Santa" will be delivering a ticket to "finishing school" for Christmas. lol)

I would like for her to learn both english and western. Problem is, I'm smack dab in the middle of western country, hardly anyone (seriously, I only know 3 including myself) that ride english. I'm more interested in having a companion than a show horse but I'm not ruling out the possibility of a few local shows once we both get polished up on our skills. Breeding? Again, not in the current picture but maybe one (or two) WAY WAY WAY down the road. (I know I could never give them up thus only one or two!)

I haven't ridden in a couple of years so I don't feel as confident as I once did (hence part of the reason I haven't hopped on bareback, yet). Sounds like we both have a bit of work/learning in store for us!

Thank you guys again for all your compliments and well wishes!

Yeah, I think it is a great idea for you two to bond...........ya know, girl talk and stuff!

Then slowly "together" you can go forward and talk about what you want to accomplish - and she will let you know what she is willing to do and probably what she will not do.

Besides, "someone" mentioned that you need a hat!!!

    Well, bummer!

My girth is still intransit with an EDD of "sometime next week." Also, I was just informed that the western saddle was damaged by UPS and immediately returned to the place I bought it from. So, another one's on it's way -which is good- but dangit I was hoping to ride this weekend!

Might just have to bareback it.... lol

Can't you *borrow* a saddle from a Stable Buddy?

    Or borrow a 2-wheeled *Cart* ...
Tux Horse would look purdy *sharp* out in front of a lil 2-wheeler!
(Prolly could get one wiffa Seat Belt, too. )

You still got your Hard Hat to go wiffa English Outfit?

Wonder iffin they put Hard Hats inside Cow Gurl Hats?
You gotta pair of Cow Gurl *BOOTS*?

Gotta think Miz Summer will look purdy all tricked out WESTERN Style!
Now all we gotta do is talk the Udder Half into goin Westen!

    Ride Safe!!

Tonya, it sounds like you will have a lot of fun with Summer.
Too bad you don't have your saddle or girth yet.
Maybe you can just take lots of photos of her and share them with us to keep us happy while you wait for your riding equipment to arrive.
    RIP sweet Samantha

Congrats!!! Summer sure is a beauty.

When I lived in Greenville,S.C. we lived fairly close to a stable and I was able to take horsebackriding lessons. The teacher was from England so she only taught English. It was a lot of fun but I haven't been on a horse in many years so I've now forgotten everything. I hope that your saddles will come soon.

Here's a few more pics of my sweetiepie Summer. (I still can't believe she's MINE! I have wanted a horse for sooo long and now I finally have one.)

"Hurry up, Mom! Get over here and love me!"
I turned her out in one of the pens this morning. This pic was taken when I went up for the evening feed. When she saw me get out of the car, she immediately went to the gate and started nickering.

    "Don't forget me!"
She kept an eye on me while I went to her stall to get her halter.

"It's dinner time. Come on, let's go."

    (3 more...)
