How do they know, from an on-line vote, whether you're a resident of Louisiana? All they ask for is your date of birth (I give a different one each time). I think they record the computer it's coming from (I figure that's how they must have known when I tried to vote more than once in the same day), but even if they could track down that this computer is in Michigan, how do they know I'm not just visiting or a student or a Louisian-ite(?) with some other valid reason to be here now?
I meant," said Ipslore bitterly, "what is there in this world that truly makes living worthwhile?"
Death thought about it.
CATS, he said eventually. CATS ARE NICE.

Don't forget to vote daily!
They've added this to website now.
We wanted to take a moment to tell all of the voters that deleting cookies on a computer to accommodate multiple votes is not allowed. Each voter would need to have a distinct log in to a computer for that vote to be valid and can only vote once within a 24-hour period.

I was just reading and listening on the news about IP addresses and how so many ISPs are on wireless routers now, that basically all they can tell is where the server is based for that ISP (like if Verizon is based in a certain state, or whomever you use). They said the days when your computer was "issued" an IP address and it stayed the same is basically done with. So, unless they are asking for a name and address or social, I doubt they can track who is voting from where. I know they were having this discussion because of the whole Chris Benoit case, and the person who posted to Wikipedia about the wife being dead, and they had to figure out who posted it, even though IP address came from on state, it didn't mean the person was in that state.
I voted. We still have 4%.
