So Much For The Brave Wild Game Hunter

This 11 yr old kid who made news by shooting the largest wild pig ever,
is just a kid who's father paid a fee to have his son join in a canned hunt.
No big deal to kill an animal that's fenced in and can't get away.

    The pig's name was Fred.

I knew something didn't ring true with that story.

Truly feral hogs and wild boar are NASTY animals to deal with with a capital "N". If it had been either of those it probably would have been the child either hurt or killed instead of Fred.

I'm all for hunting, but thats just sick & wrong!!

    You don't hunt farm animals!
You don't hunt fenced in animals!
You don't spend 3 hours shooting at something!!!

If I recall from Fark correctly (correct me if I'm wrong), but I heard they were NOT using the correct firearm to take the animal down!!

You MUST always use the proper firearm to kill the animal in its tracks.. none of this running away fearing for its life BS!

Find me a firearm that will take down an 1100 lb hog in one shot and I'll buy one.

I'm no expert but a 300WINMAG is OVER kill on a deer to the point it'll ruin most of the meat, so that'll take a large hog down... a 50Cal will just ruin the meat. a 50cal is what they use on an elephant. Headshots are a BIG NO NO!!!!!!.. its too easy to be off an inch & miss the brain, then the poor beast will suffer really bad

But a 300 WINMAG will drop the hog in 1 shot to the chest. Thats what my ex was suppose to use when him & his buddy were going to go to Packistan (before the war & such) & hunt the MASSIVE hogs out there.
