THE MOUSE

Skitter, skitter, running mouse
Somehow he got inside the house
Eeekk! Mom cried.
Get him away, get him outside!
The swish, swish of the broom
Quickly swept him out of the room.

I am like the window
You can look out
But it’s not always easy
To look in

DOE

Sweet little brown doe
Grazing in the soft green grass
Why do you look so sad?

MEMORY

Fluffy, soft white clouds
Drift slowly, lazily by
I remember them

FISH

Little fish in the
Blue, clear sparkling water
It’s so far to swim

[sumbirdy]

PUPPY

Hey, little puppy
Why are you running so fast?
Are they calling you?

DARKNESS

Soft shadows, whisper
Owl hooting, calling for night
The moon is my guide.

[sumbirdy]

WATER

Coolness rushes past
Trickling past my fingers, wet.
Water fills the sink.

BIRD

Little bird dreaming
For the eggs that she lays on
Hoping they don’t fall.

DREAMS

I have nonsense dreams
Sometimes where I am flying
Or climbing on rocks
And I’m very high up when…
I find myself on the floor.

FREE

Sitting on the grass
Looking at the cloudless sky
Sun shining brightly
Watching the birds, flying free
Wish I could be one of them

SPRING RAIN

Spring rain
Cold, clear, and pure
Pouring, moving, flowing
Dreaming of the seasons to come
Spring rain.

LITTLE PUPPY

A little puppy
Coming home at noon
On a sun-scorched road
From the lake
Because his master called.
