Thread: Our dog is sick..

    Our dog is sick..

Well, about 30 mins ago she threw up all of her food, and is drooling all over the place. I took her outside and she kind of sways from side to side and when she walks, it looks like she could fall over :S She also tried to go to urinate about 3 times... Only thing I can think of is that our water is bad (We've had heavy rainfall and some landslides occured and the amount of turbidity increased. So now we have to boil our water) but we haven't given the dogs boiled water. I don't think that'd be the cause though..

I would call the vet right away! Anything that impairs motor skills like that is serious!
    I've been BOO'd!

dogs are prone to ghiardia and if the water is bad your dog could have that...not sure if that causes those types of problems...could be bloat too...either way this requires a definite trip to the emergency vet.
don't breed or buy while shelter dogs die....

    I have been frosted!

    Thanks Kfamr for the signature!

Nothing wrong with the water per the dog. The assumpton being made is that you are speaking in terms of well water.

In some dogs severe vomiting can lead to temporary neurological problems when it is occuring. Causes range from all that may cause the vomiting per se, to other more rare events such as heart problems, or peripheral vestibular syndrome. The drolling is a side effect of the nausea that the dog is feeling. Have the dog checked out by the Vet Monday. S/he may want to do some follow up testing.

I would recommend taking her and a stool sample in to the vet. My Jasper was sick a few weeks ago and it turned out that he had gotten an infection from contaminated water. A round of antibiotics and some sub-Q fluids and he's back to normal, but he did give me a scare.

I hope your pup is back to normal soon!

    Thank you Wolf_Q!
