We join all the Beagle lovers here this morning. Such a dainty and sweet little Beagle girl we have as our wonderful DOTD today. First of all, what a beautiful name and so befitting for this beautiful little girl. You aren't a very big girl sweetie but we know you're 18 pounds of unconditional lovebug

The light of your family's life. How many Beagle girls know Japanese as a second language? What a special girl you are. We can just picture your RB sister, beaming down, all smiles from the bridge this morning. So proud of her sister for getting the DOTD honors. Wow, a Texas lady who understands Japanese! I don't know that I've ever met a dog that understands Japanese before. So, Akane, it is a pleasure to have you grace my monitor this morning. Konichiwa Akane chan, a.k.a Miss Priss, Grand Dame, you sweet baby doll! My Beagle loving heart is doing flips at the sight of you!!! I agree with your Mom, you have the look of a puppy about you and the heart of one too! And you speak Japanese! My husband speaks Japanese to our Lab Star but like your brother, she seems less than receptive!

Bless you for coming into your Mommy's life when she needed you most Akane, helping to heal her heart after the passing of her beloved furkid; you were truly heaven sent, sweetheart! And I too have no doubts your predecessor is smiling down from the Rainbow Bridge, so proud to see you honored here today!

Akane, what a sweet looking beagle you are! How fortunate for your 'grandma' to have the opportunity to keep you in her home after 'mommy' moved out. I can tell that you have been a wonderful companion to her and have brought her many years of happy memories. I think its very funny that you only respond when she speaks in Japanese and your sibling only responds to English! What a pair, indeed! Congratulations on being Dog of the Day!
