What do you think he is?

I have a puppy who is around 6 months old, his name is Cisco he was dumped in the woods with his brother, so we decided to adopt him. I'm just curious as to what you think his mix is. I'm positive there is some lab but what else is a mystery. Just looking to see what you all think here. By the way he weighs 50 pounds.

    Cisco:

I don't have any good pics of him standing, I'll try to post a couple tomorrow so you can better see his build. Thanks.

He pretty much looks like a lab mixed with a lab. LOL!!!

Maybe some more pics and someone might see something else, but no other dogs dominant traits jump right out at me.

He also looks older than 6 months - but it could just be these pics.

Thanks to all who responded. Here's a few more pics too.

Our vet was the one who told us his age based on what puppy teeth he still had and what adult teeth were in. He said 4 1/2 to 5 months and that was exactly one month ago. The general concensus seems to be he is either lab/boxer or lab/pit. My moms friend who met my dog saw another lady in town, it's a small town with a dog that looked and acted just like mine same age and everything. So the lady said she had just gotten him about a month ago the people had seven of them and were giving them away in front of the grocery store. Now we believe the two dogs my mom found were from this litter and when the people couldn't give them away they just dumped them in the woods. The lady told my moms friend that the people told her the pups were lab/boxer mixes. But they could have been lieing so that they could get rid of them easier. I don't know. He's a good dog whatever he is. Sorry for all the rambling.

Any other opinions are always appreciated. Thanks again.

    NO RAMBLING... Good story!!!

I guess he could def be a Lab/Boxer mix - I mean, why would they lie. But then again, I guess we shouldn't simply take the word of people who would toss helpless puppies into woods!!!

Anyways, I am glad that you found them and that he is a good dog!!!

I would agree with lab/pit also. He is beautiful. When we got one of our dogs, "Jada" we were told she was a pit bull. She isn't all pit though. I think she has some lab in her. You can see it a lot more in person. Here are a few pictures of her. Wolfsoul, in the lab/pit pictures you posted the 5th one looks so much like Jada. Amazing...

Thank you Kay for the beautiful sig!

Jadapit, I can definately see the lab in Jada. Her body looks just like a lab and her muzzle too. She carries her ears just like my dog too. Her head looks alot like my dogs brothers(the one found in the woods with him). O.K. now I'm back to thinking lab/pit for my guy and those people lied to give the pups away quicker obviously they were desperate enough. Jada is a very gorgeous lady, by the way.

This is a head shot of Ciscos brother:

Bono, your dog really does look like a lab to me. He's really pretty. I have never ever heard of a red bone lab before though. Red bone coon hounds, yes but your dog doesn't look much like a hound to me. Right now from your photos I would just say lab.

    dragonfly,

Your brothers dog does look a lot like Jada! Jada doesn't have the lab fur at all. Her fur is real short and has that bristly feeling like the pit bulls. Thank you for the comment on Jada I think she is beautiful also. She's such a good dog.

Thank you Kay for the beautiful sig!

Maybe Lab/Boxer or Lab/Pit, he's adorable whatever he is!
