    A BBQ!! Now were talking
How about some lamb on the BBQ washed down with a cheeky shiraz.

    Aussie Lamb Chops

    Ingredients:
2 tbl currant jam or jelly
    2 tbl ketchup
    2 tbl soy sauce
2 tbl brown sugar or honey
    1 tbl dry mustard
    2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
    12 x lamb loin chops - (abt 3 lbs) cut 1" thick,
    and trimmed
6 slc pineapple, abt 1/2" thick

    Method:
In a small bowl combine currant jam, ketchup, soy sauce, brown sugar, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Place lamb chops in large resealable plastic bag. Pour marinade over lamb chops. Close bag and marinate in refrigerator for 15 minutes.

Remove lamb from marinade; discard marinade. Place lamb and pineapple slices in center of cooking grate. Grill pineapple for 5 to 7 minutes or until grill marks appear, turning once halfway through grilling time. Grill lamb chops 7 to 9 minutes for rare (140 degrees), 10 to 13 minutes for medium (160 degrees), or 14 to 17 minutes for medium-well (170 degrees), turning once halfway through grilling time. Serve lamb chops with grilled pineapple rings.

Wine Recommendation: Want to blow your taste buds away? Try a Shiraz bursting with black cherry and ripe tannins. 'Nough said.

OK Oggy, that's not fair when I'm sitting here without breakfast and starving.

A suggestion for next week folks. Why down we get "down and under" and go on a field trip to Oggy's place?

It's been hot here all week long.....upper 70's if you must know. Even poor Max isn't moving around much...just lays under the ceiling fan. I guess Mr. Weatherman is giving us a taste of what's to come for the summertime.

Gonna be a busy day for me today folks but I'll try to check in later. For now, one big tall glass of ice water will do.

But I thought we were supposed to keep our hands above the table?

It's still been cold and rainy here all week, so Slick, I'll trade you a 70's day for a 60's day and up you one big ball of sun.

Left over black forest cake for breakfast? Why sure! That's ok, Mario, I don't mind if all the cherries are picked out, as long as you washed your hands before doing the picking.

Coke for me for now. Boss is out of town and I'm so bored that I might actually do some work today just to make the time pass faster.

It is one thing to come to Thursdays and leave our attitude at the door.........but how do you get rid of the sadness? Logan losing Zipper after just having lost Murphy.

Maybe that is what Thursdays is about - we all stop - look in Logan's direction and hurt for her - hoping to take some away from her and share her pain.

Mario, you little brat - get your fingers out of the middle of that cake........I think you have gotten ALL of the cherries out of it - it sure looks appetizing now!! Come on over here and sit down beside me - I am going to tell you a story.........

Thank you, Gini. What a horrible day it is as all the "next days" are.

Bartender, I could use something strong. Just remember that I don't like brown liquor and I don't do coconut.

Just taking a bit of break here too before I get right back at it. Looking forward to our 3 day weekend... Yup, our dear late Queen Victoria (no Mario, not me...) is having a birthday and we all get Monday off. I could so use the rest.

Logan, please forgive me for not acknowledging you in my last post earlier this morning. I did respond to your other thread. Please know that my heart breaks for you and I do understand the pain of losing a furbaby. Big {{{hugs}}} to you.

I'm with Debbie. Some nice charred bits would be nice. I just thought...."bits" is in the furminology dictionary and refers to...well...you know. Please, leave out the bits and give me a nice prime rib steak....rare please. Just wave it over the BBQ and I call it done. I mean DONE!

He's out someplace with some turtles?
Yes he's out in Oklahoma, at Post Office school and feeding the turtles in the pond they have there. They even provide the turtle food for you so that people aren't feeding them anything that will hurt them. There's also a couple of geese with a nest too.
RIP Lady, Thursday's won't be the same without you to cuddle with by the fire
