Prayers are on their way to your Grandfather as well as all of you. Joann
I'm so sorry Kay. I hope he gets better soon. My Grandma had a stroke in 1999. It did a lot of damage, but she lived for 4 more years after that. We were always close, but we got so much closer in those 4 years. She had bad days and some really good days too. My prayers are with you.

I know how scary it can be. I hope things work out ok.

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.
I miss you
I hear you whimper in your sleep
I gently pet you and say, no bad dreams
It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.
Fur as dark as the night.
Join me on this flight.
Paws of love that follow me.
In my heart you'll forever be.

How I wish I could hold you near.
Turn back time to make it so.
Hug you close and never let go.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts.
From what I know he didn't have a stroke, but a TIA, a transient ischemic attack. It is often called a mini-stroke and a warning sign for a serious stroke. He has had other cases where he has had symptoms of a TIA but they've never called it that before.
Anyways, when I visited him he acted completely like usual, talking and everything. He had full motion - and was very hungry!
As he told me he was sitting down ready to go downstairs for lunch (he and my grandma Rose live in an apartment type thing for seniors), his arm got really numb and it fell off the armrest of his chair. He couldn't lift it so he lifted it with his other arm and it fell again. He had my grandma call 911.
They brought him in some food just as we were leaving, I helped him and open up his utensils - opened up the iced tea they brought him, hugged him, told him to never scare us again and said goodbye.
I am so sorry to see this. Prayers and good thoughts going out for your grandfather.
Best thoughts sent for your grandpa, Kay! I home he is home with your family again very soon!

Whew! Glad it wasn't a "real" stroke, and that he has full range of motion. There's nothing like a Grandpa hug, huh?
Kay, I am so glad he is doing okay. I am sure he cherishes all the times he gets those hugs from you.
don't breed or buy while shelter dogs die....
I have been frosted!
