Glacier - is Delta any less shy now that he is home? Just wondering if there was a change.

Glad to see Delta HOME and lovin' it!

In some ways, he has changed. His behavior in the yard is exactly as it always has been. He follows me just out of reach and talks to me. He has a huge vocabularly. When I tell him to find a safe place, he makes me follow behind him for a few minutes until he picks his spot. Then he waits for me to catch him, pet him or carry him inside (Delta doesn't walk on a leash, never has, he has to be carried if I want to put him somewhere. I'm hoping to change that!)

The difference is now his new safe spot is against the door to the house and he seems to want to come in. He's been sleeping inside and not freaking out. Not bugging the cats, not pacing around, not trying to bolt for the door. He's much more relaxed inside. When I hug him, he goes limp and relaxes into me if he's inside, instead of going board stiff. He is getting his extra meal inside so that may be helping!

So the short answer is "sort of"! I'm hoping he will continue to want to be inside more and hopefully tame up a bit more. I've always believed he could be braver and maybe this will help him unpack a bit more of his baggage.

He definately looks like he's settling back in. Considering how long he was missing it's amazing how good he looks.
