What was your cat's original name?

Zöe is her original name, I got here from a breeder as a 10 week old baby. Zöe is named for a friend and former coworker from Canada,
when I asked her is she minded my using her name for my beautiful new kitten she said she "would be honoured", so that has always been her name. Phoebe was originally named Morning Glory. That just didn't fit her. I changed her name to Phoebe, after Phoebe on the TV show, 'Friends' because she is always doing something goofy that makes me laugh...

Cardamom (RB) was called Miss Kitty by her previous owner. She was Miss Kitty to me for a couple of weeks, then I decided to call her something less "generic." Her dark stripes were the color of black cardamom pods.

Don Juan got his name at the Humane Society, where he was brought as a stray. I kept it because he is a big lovebug, and just a little bit naughty.

Zerlina was Zana at Hopalong Animal Rescue. When I met her at the Petsmart adoption center, I scratched her ear and asked if she'd like to be called "Zerlina." She purred. She's named for a character in the Mozart-Da Ponte opera Don Giovanni. Zerlina is a peasant girl at her wedding when she encounters the charming Don Giovanni, who almost succeeds in persuading her to abandon her new husband and run off with him. (Fortunately, bridegroom Masetto turns up just in the nick of time.) And my Zerlina has just the same sweet-and-spicy temperament.

Tux never had another name because he was a stray.
Pesca was called Firsty by the breeder because she was the first kitten to be born.

My hairless cat was named "Spot" I chose MooShoo because of his oriental look.

My Munchkin's original name was Little Mews Faberge. I renamed her "Shortie Girl"

Mollie Rose and Maya Linn didn't have names at the time so I chose their names.

When I first adopted Doogie from the Dearborn Animal Shelter, his name was "George". I always liked Doogie Houser, M.D. so I named him Doogie. He's now living the high life with Val (Dukedogsmom).

Rest In Peace Casey (Bubba Dude) Your paw print will remain on my heart forever. 12/02
Mollie Rose, you were there for me through good times and in bad, from the beginning.Your passing will leave a hole in my heart. We will be together "One Fine Day". 1994-2009
MooShoo, you left me too soon.I wasn't ready.Know that you were my soulmate and have left me broken hearted.I loved you like no other. 1999 - 2010See you again "ONE FINE DAY"
Maya Linn, my heart is broken. The day your beautiful blue eyes went blind was the worst day of my life.I only wish I could've done something.I'll miss your "premium" purr and our little "conversations". 1997-2013 See you again "ONE FINE DAY"

Skye's name was Milano. After the Pepperidge Farm cookie. She and her brothers were the Pepperidge Farm Family. Her brothers were Chessmen and Brussels, but I thought Skye fit her better .

    Neko we named.
    Cookie we named.

Pumpkin's name was Jasper (that was her shelter name). We changed it because I wanted to name her something that had to do with her orangie color.
Tama's name was Little Friend---very odd but his previous owners could not think of a name for him!

    I love my furkid Neko!

    Wow, this is an old.

-I named Oliver, Raisin, and Sundae all as kittens.
-Jimmy was named by my boss when she found him as a kitten.
-Kitten was originally named Rav by my sister, all of his vet records and things are under Rav. The name Rav didn't fit him though and we just called him Kitten. He responds to both Kitten and Kit.

Cassie's shelter name was Heinbuch. No, really. She was named for Dr. Heinbuch, who is one of the veterinarians at the practice Harmony House works with. I named her Cashmere because she's the same color as the grey cashmere blend coat my mom was wearing when she found out I had adopted a cat. My other choice for her name was Pepper. She's got a lot of little "pet" names now, though - cookie, boo (for Booboo Kitty on Laverne and Shirley), bug, missy...

from what I know, Buddy was known as "Mailbox" since he was found inside a mailbox outside the humane society building. as for Abby , I havent any idea , as she was with many siblings at the same shelter and they all looked the same.

I got Howard at a local pet rescue, and his name was "Howard" there too. I kept the name because, for some strange reason, it just suited him--even as a 12-week-old kitten. Although sometimes we call him "How-Cat" (for short) or even "How-Turd" (when he's being "bad").

Luna was always Luna as I got her from a friend's farm (I had the pick of several barn cat litters). Good thing too, because she's too much of a high-maintenance little princess to be an outdoor barn cat. Sometimes I think I should have named her "Paris" instead. lol.

GREAT idea for this thread, by the way. I've enjoyed all the posts
