On the contrary, I've noticed a boom in Toy breeds, mainly Pomeranians and Chihuahuas. Thank you Paris Hilton. Thank you Britney Spears. Thank you all dumb celebrities.![]()
I haven't noticed a huge boom in Corsos, but I do realize that many mastiff type breeds are receiving a lot of recognition, including Neos and Corsos. No doubt the induction of the Neo has contributed to their recent surge of popularity. Cane Corsos are registerable through the FSS (Foundation Stock Service), which allows them to maintain a reliable pedigree record but FSS dogs are not registerable through AKC.
Also, did the ads have a lot of pictures? I've noticed that working breeds tend to flaunt one-page ads with many pictures of the dogs succeeding in the ring and outside the ring. Still, sixteen pages is way above average.
Oh yeah, BUNCHES! Every ad had like at least six pictures on it! And many were full-page ads tooOriginally Posted by Giselle
Ok someone agrees with me I didn't know if people woulld be mad if I stated that.Originally Posted by bckrazy
I have always loved them and I'm a little scared for them, one part of me thinks that if they recieve AKC recognition, the number of 'akc reg'd pups, $800' type breeders who only have registration to show for will skyrocket
I found out about two years ago that I was pronouncing it wrong the whole time! (correct: caynay corso)

"caynay" corsos? That's a bit odd, haha. I've probably been pronouncing them wrong this whole time, too, as well as every dog trainer and Corso owner I've talked to!Originally Posted by Suki Wingy

there seem to ba a few different ways
I just found this
(http://www.canadogs.com/BreedCaneCorso.htm)Cane Corso (pronounced Cawnie Corso)
and this:
(http://www.molosserdogs.com/modules....rso%20Italiano)Cane Corso (pronounced Kah-Neh Kor-Soh)
9http://www.yourpurebredpuppy.com/dog...anecorsos.html)CANE CORSO
Pronounced
CAH-nay COR-so
(http://www.burkesbackyard.com.au/200...ian_cane_corso)Pronounced Carn-ay Corso (Cane being Italian for 'dog' and Corso derived from the Latin Cohors meaning protector), the breed's name literally means 'guardian' or 'protector dog'. Historically, this term perhaps initially described a type of dog rather than a specific breed.
(http://bellarosacanecorsos.com/breedhistory.html)Cane (pronounced 'Connie') - which means dog.
Corso - derived from the latin word 'cohors', which means to guard or protect.

Well, i've just been pronouncing it as "cane" like.. candy cane lol
That is way too confusing. I'm going to stick with how it looks.![]()
