Deworming question

I've been having a few issues with my cats.

Meko had diarrhea for a few days and her third eyelids are elevated a little.

Tiki has diarrhea now.

Meko went to the vets, had an exam & a fecal done. They couldn't find anything in her feces but because of her symptoms (and she's a mouser) we dewormed her just in case, and we did the same with Tiki.

Here it is 4 days later.
Meko's diarrhea has stopped but her third eyelids are still stightly elevated.
Tiki is still having dirrhea.

How long does it take dewormers to work? They were given Drontal on Friday. I was just wondering if I should get them back to the vets right away or give it a couple more days.

Otherwise they are 100% normal, eating, drinking, playing everything is fine.

I'd love to but Tiki has decided that since he has diarrhea it is fun to miss the litterbox. Cleaning up accidents outside of the box is bad enough but when youre dealing with diarrhea, thats the worst.
But if the dewormer needs a couple more days to kick in (if that is even whats wrong) then I have no choice.

I'm not sure how long the dewormer takes but it shouldn't take long. Maybe you should call your vet's offfice and ask them more about it and mention to them what's going on.

Sometimes kittens just need to mature more and grow out of the diarrhea stage. I think it usually takes until they're about 6 months old for their intestional track to become mature. Both of my kittens were having diarrhea but their fecal samples were normal. They were even on some medicine to help them and it still didn't work. I tried giving them pumpkin and rice in their wet food and this still didn't work. Starr's now 7 months old and Pearl's now 5 months old and their stools are getting better but they still have slight diarrhea occassionally and gas too.

Hopefully your kittens will be fine and outgrow this soon. I'm assuming that they're kittens. Good luck.

Well, Meko is a little over 2 years and Tiki is a little over 6 months. Neither has eveer had diarrhea, not even as sick stray little kittens when I first got them. There feces were stinky when they were younger but never diarrhea.

This is just something that started about 9 days ago.

Like I said, they are healthy & normal otherwise so I would like to give it a few more days BUT Tiki is having accidents on my floor. Tiki will only go in the litterbox once (with diarrhea) then he uses the my floor!!! There is no way I can prevent this, I'm at work during the day so I can't change it often enough for him. I did put down 2 more boxes, which leaves him with 3 boxes (Meko has her own box & Tiki won't use it, then I have 2 more boxes around the house for the ferrets but Tiki won't use them either) but he still has diarrhea often enough to use each litterbox once then have accidents on my floor. About 1-2 accidents during the day while I'm at work, and another 1-2 in the middle of the night when I'm sleeping.

When my Cally was a kitty she had a spate of "missing" her litterbox. Was due to stomach upset (she'd been helping herself to the dog's food) not worms so maybe another trip to the vet wouldn't go amiss?

maybe try placing some plastic trashbags on the floor under near and around the litterbox, so if they miss then you won't have to scrub it out of the carpet or off of the floor?? I hope they get better really soon, sorry I can't help you more

Thats a great idea!!! I'll do that.
I was using some old throw rugs with rubber backing that I had in the closet, I'd just toss them once he went on them. But I ran out 2 days ago and couldn't think of anything else to use besides old towels. They made clean up a little easier but it would still soak through.
