I had a good trip home, especially on the Air France over the "pond", I was lucky to get the 4 four seats in the middle to myself so I could lay down with 4 pillows and 4 blankets - except the middle armrest couldn't go up, but I managed to get reasonably comfy. However, waiting in Paris for about 3 hours nearly finished me off.

I rang the pension the minute I got back and Fister came an hour later. Of course, he had to go around and check everything out first, and he has been miawing loudly, telling me all sorts of things and just wouldn't leave me. When I went to bed after watching the news and having a quick meal, he stood there right in front of my face miawing and giving me headbumpies. All night long, he's been walking across my head back and forth - but I had a good sleep and Fister is happy

This trip has been one of my best ever - simply perfect!!

Sara and Don, thank you so much for inviting me to stay in your home, you have been absolutely wonderful!! I have seen SO many places and had a GREAT time!!

It was so nice to be able to spend a few days with Debbie, Terry and Karen in Laguna Niguel too, and Vickie came to visit the last day.

When I finish unpacking, I'll upload the pics - if I don't fall asleep, so until later .....

Oh Randi, all of us are going to miss you and Karen too.

It was so special for all of us to give you a real hug instead of the cyber hugs we have been sending.

I am glad that you got home safely even though you are tired and that Fister is happy you are home too. I bet he really missed you.

Rascal sends headbumpies and Annie and Emma too.

Now we have to plot for next year............................

    xxoo Gini

I have a question for those who attended the BBQ.

Why am I finding little packages in my freezer that say "hold for Haz Mat - 2006?" What is in them?

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

It was so fun to meet you Randi. You are so lucky. You got headbumpies. When I got home the only present my little darlings had for me was fleas.

Mruffruff (Mary) - this is for you.

From the local newspaper (The Oregonian)

just flew in from Dulles and boy are my jokes tired

In a bid to improve the flying experience, Independence Air has hired Dave George, 36, a stand-up comic, to tell jokes over the PA system at Dulles International Airport in Washington, D.C. Here are a few of the jokes he's told to waiting passengers:

Independence Air is paging customer Alycia Oaklander. Please be advised that I am over you. I have moved on. And I want my CDs back.

We'll be boarding today by SAT scores -- lowest scorers first, please.

We have an important announcement for all United and USAirways employees: Your anger management classes begin in five minutes...

Hoo boy, sounds like Dave needs some help. Luckily The Washington Post asked its readers to send in some new jokes that Dave could use. Some of our favorites:

Would the owner of a red and tan Boeing 737 please report to the tarmac? Your lights are on.

Attention, please. Could everyone just stop where they are and just shut up for one teeny little moment? I really like this song.

Attention, passengers: We've just been informed that a butterfly has flapped its wings in Brazil. So be prepared for flight delays.

Ladies and gentlemen, I regret to inform you that, due to an error by our baggage handling department, your luggage has accidentally been loaded aboard the same aircraft you will be traveling on. We apologize for the convenience.

Your attention, please: As a cost-cutting measure, this flight will be remotely piloted from India.

    LOL!

I think I heard the one about the butterfly while I was waiting. Or maybe I just thought I did. So true.

I heard that Independence Air was fined for failing to do required pre flight check ups. A co-worker told me so I don't know if it's true. If they start doing them, they will have to delay flights another 2 hours, meaning that they will have NO schedule at all.

I did hear the comedian on the first flight. And a different one on the way back. They make the necessary safety pitches a little more interesting.

    Mary

  11. A Last Reminder

I just posted in Logan's thread about her visit with VermontCat... Imagine my surprise when Fister's little face appeared on my post! I quickly realized Randi had been signed on to PT from this computer.

I think I'll leave the post that way....

Last lost lamb checking in! Walked in the door (notice... not INTO the door) at midnight last night from the airport shuttle. Left San Diego at "ought a.m." yesterday. Dozen furkids met me at the door and it took a while to say a private hello to everyone. Emmitt and Moon wanted to let me sweat it out until this morning. Then they forgave me and snuggled. Ohhh the stories I have written in my journal but won't do it now.. too tired still. Just spoke with Slick on the phone but didn't get much talking done - we were giggling too much - My home is still standing and if anything, Jenny did her "zoom zoom zoom" and organized a major house cleaning. I'll have to leave home more often Gini, are you ready for THAT!! I'll try your number later my dear. I will never forget this last week.. thank you all... more later

At last - I’m awake, have uploaded the pictures AND Fister is letting me sit by the computer ... I said that too soon. I’ll start posting the pictures from the visit with Gini and the BBQ, and do a separarte thread for Lauguna Niguel with Sara and Don.

I had the most wonderful trip to USA you can imagine, I can’t think of anything to complain about .... only that the jetlag hit me harder than I expected (9 hours diff.)

Saturday, a week before the BBQ, Sara and I drove to LA to visit Gini. To everyones? surprize, I got to meet both Rascal, Emma and Annie. As you have probably figured out, Rascal was the most sociable of them - and Gini was the wonderful lady I had expected.

    Rascal saying Hello.

Gini and Sara ready for LA.

Gini was the perfect tour guide and took us around to see all the interesting places, Rodeo Drive .... I left some of the pictures from this on Sara’s machine, will put them in later.

After that we had lunch at Shutters on Santa Monica beach - a great place and delicious food.
