One year ago today...

Well, this is a very sad day for me. My beautiful Boxer, Rocky, passed away suddenly May 7, 2001 at the age of 9 years. He died of twisted stomach (bloat). I'm at work today and doing everything I can not to think about it but it's so hard. I'm trying to think how lucky I am to have my "killer" poodle, Fritz If Rocky hadn't passed away Fritz wouldn't have been part of our family. Anyway, I'm blabbing now. Sandra, again thank you for all of your support a year ago.

Tanya it seems like yesterday, doesn't it? I know that's how I feel about my babies at the Bridge. Just concentrate on the great memories you have and remember that Rocky is pain-free and happy now. Then scoop up that little "killer poodle" Fritz in your arms and bury your face in his fur. That is my antidote for the blues! Thinking of you...

I'm so glad you have two furry friends to snuggle and make you feel better, Tanya. That sadness never does really go away. But the memories are all good, I'm sure. I hope that helps you get through it in some small way. I'll be thinking of you today.

I remember this time last year and how devastating it was. It was time for Rocky to go, but God gave you the gift of a fuzzy little puppy to help you feel better. Hold on to the good memories and try to let the pain ease away. I know how hard it is. It never seems like they are with us long enough. I will be thinking of you today Tanya.

Wow, that was a year ago! It sure doesn't seem like it. It's so sad how animals (and people) are there one minute and then with almost no warning, gone the next.

Tanya, I feel your pain. That's the same thing our Keisha died of and it too, has almost been a year. It's so hard to believe the time goes by so quickly. Isn't it hard how much after a year the same pain is there. You will be in my thoughts. Anna

Dear Tanya, I remember so well the tragic event that brought you to Pet Talk that sad day one year ago. My heart ached for you so, and how we all wished we could bring your precious Rocky back to you. I know how hard this day must be for you. So many of us know too well that while the the pain never completely goes away, it does soften with time. Please try to think most about the beautiful times you shared with Rocky, how you loved him, how he loved you. I will be thinking of you often these next few days, Tanya. I too remember this so clearly. It hit us all hard. I know that the tears still come easily for you when you think about losing Rocky, but one day a sense of peace will come. All of us need to treasure each day with our beloved furkids and make sure they enjoy their lives as they are too short.
