I Received The Best News Ever!!!!

Cirrus has finally found a forever home!!! I've been thinking about him a lot lately and have been praying every night that he'd find a new home and stay happy and healthy. Well my prayers have been answered. I decided to check one of my old e-mail addresses and this was the e-mail I received about Cirrus aka Flint. This was sent to me on Friday Dec.16th.

    Hi Tracey,

I just wanted to let you know that Flint has a wonderful forever
home! One of our board members recently retired from Stanford and
moved down to Vizalea (sp?). She bought a large house there and has
set up a mini-sanctuary for a few special cats who don't get adopted
after a time through SCN. She has had a custom outdoor run built on
to the side of the house to provide extra space for the kitties to
enjoy (fully enclosed) and several rooms to separate cats who need
    their own space.

After Cirrus was in a foster home for a while, he didn't have any
urinary problems but is very easily over-stimulated and any noise or
activity terrifies him. We decided Cirrus wasn't going to be adopted
except by a very special person, and we didn't want him to move
around again. So when our board member volunteered to bring him to
her home everyone was very happy. He'll be living in a very quiet
home with her and a few other cats, who he will be introduced to
gradually over time (he's in a large playpen cage so they can meet
him through that first). He can just be a cat and choose not to
approach her ever if he doesn't care to, and will have a large
outdoor enclosure to explore when he's brave enough, which I think he
will like! If he wants to hide that's OK too.

He arrived at his new home today, and his new mom says he's doing
fine, just hiding but peeking out sometimes and eating and drinking
well. She's going to get some photos when her friend with a camera
visits, we may use them in next year's newsletter in a article about
    the SCN mini-sanctuary.

Merry Christmas, I hope the news brings you a smile and that Storm is
    doing better now too!

    What wonderful news!

I couldn't resist. I looked Visalia up on my old tiny atlas. It looks to be almost halfway between Fresno and Bakersfield, but I's not too clear if the road it shows is I-5 or Highway 99. Visalia is a little north of the half-way point, and a smidge east of it. I'd always though it was nearer to Los Angeles, so I'm glad I looked it up.

This has GOT to be a terrific Christmas present for you. I know how you worry and suffer over your 'bad boy' sweetheart Cirrus. LOL over the volunteer's switching between his names.

ConCATulations for this terrific news. I'm thrilled for you both!

P.S. Somehow this afternoon I've started sneezing my head off. I hope to avert a cold w/those "Airborn' fizzie drinks. Can I suggest you take some, or something similar, in case I was contagious at lunch? I really thought I was just tired. Sorry to expose you to ickies.
I'm sometimes asked "Why do you spend so much of your time and money talking about kindness to animals when there is so much cruelty to men?" I answer: "I am working at the roots." -George T. Angell, reformer (1823-1909)

What a perfect Christmas present! Wonderful news!!!
Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is a full management plan in which stray and feral cats already living outdoors in cities, towns, and rural areas are humanely trapped, then evaluated, vaccinated, and sterilized by veterinarians. Kittens and tame cats are adopted into good homes. Healthy adult cats too wild to be adopted are returned to their familiar habitat under the lifelong care of volunteers

WOW this has got to be the best news that I have heard in quite a long time.
Cirrus sounds like he is in one fabulous place and I hope he comes out from playing peek-a-boo to enjoy it.

What a great Christmas present to you KAK, having your Cirrus adopted out.

I am so happy for the both of you.
