I don't think they loose their motherly instincts at all. If a woman has a hysterectomy, she doesn't loose her motherly instincts.

when my RB dog Cindy got fixed i thought she´ll change but no she was the most motherly dog ever, when i had foster puppies over she would take care of them as if they were her own. (but she did had puppies before, i dont know if savanah has had, but i guess mother instict in present in every female)
