too much crying

I am a new owner of a four month old Siberian husky, Boudreaux, who is very well behaved, only he cries whenever I softly grab his collar to guide him or grab under his arms to lift him. I'm not being too rough with him. What would be his reason for yelping like he is in pain???

He's just being a baby!! He's not crying or yelping necessarily because you're hurting him but perhaps he thinks he's in trouble? The best thing to do is just to IGNORE him when he does this. He may be doing it simply because he just doesn't want you leading him around by the collar.

Is he used to being on a leash?? If not then this could be the whole problem! Break him into being on a leash and maybe he won't do this anymore

He's a husky and they are drama queens for starters.

Some dogs simply don't like having their collars touched or being picked up. If you do something to a husky that they don't like, they will tell you and anyone else who might be within a 10 mile radius that they don't like it.

yeah, just as jessika and glacier said, they will let you know what they don´t like, i personally had a Husky that screamed every time we walked during the entire time, and everyone was like "what are you doing to that dog!!!" and then they saw she was like that for no reason at all, maybe she was scared, maybe too excited, but who knows, that really made walks unpleasant for both, but you can work it out with some training.

he does great on a leash and for the most part is not a whiney dog. I just dont want him to turn into a little brat. And yes, I do see the drama queen coming out in him!

Then when he does this just ignore him and continue whatever you're doing! If you stop when he whines, then he'll know that every time if he whines when you do something he doesn't like that you'll stop. So he just needs to suck it up!
