    Preacher pictures

Last night, I put the futon down so Preacher could lounge in comfort. I spent about 2 hours cuddling with him. These pics were taken during our snuggle session at about 8pm--it still looks sunny as the sun doesn't go down til well after midnight this time of year.

This is what he looked like at first--pretty pathetic!

Hey, why did you stop petting me?

Way too close to his nose!

Giving licks. That's when I knew for sure he was feeling a bit better--he gives great kisses, but when he's sick he stops licking entirely.

A close up of his eye. They don't work anymore, but I still think he has beautiful eyes. If you look closely you can see me lining up the picture in his eye!

aww, look at that sweet helmet head......that's what we call MAXIMUS when he's sleepy or just woke up...his ears are drooped way down on his head, and well, looks like a helmet. or maybe it was 'SHREK'. I called him that one day and it stuck....but anyway, PREACHER is sooo handsome....i'm glad he's feeling better......he's got such a sweet face....give him kisses for me...oh yeah, i see you in his eye...

Such a handsome fella Glad you're feeling better Glacier! Enjoy that futon as long as mommy will let you

The sun sets after midnight? That is awesome. If I lived in Canada, I could use that as a partial excuse as to why I stay up until 3am

He's such a sweet old dog. Give him some hugs from me. I'm really sentimental with old dogs since I've got one myself, now.

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.
    I miss you

I hear you whimper in your sleep
I gently pet you and say, no bad dreams
It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.

Fur as dark as the night.

Paws of love that follow me.
In my heart you'll forever be.

How I wish I could hold you near.
Turn back time to make it so.
Hug you close and never let go.

Right now it sets at midnight for about three hours. It's not really dark even then though. I just walked home from the neighbor's (its midnight) and I didn't need a flashlight. In the next few weeks it will stop getting dark at all.

You'd have to live way north in Canada to get these long days--the trade off is the winter where the days are reversed. Three hours of dim light sucks!

That sounds really cool! I am facinated by the change of the seasons, arctic circle light phenomenon. I once had a dream it was like that here in the midwest, dark all way basically, it was fun, I like winter.

So glad to see Preacher smiling! He looks very cozy there on the futon. What a sweetie

Ahem.....unfortunately, it's been like that all spring in Ohio-- snow, gray, cold, overcast all the time--I think we've only had a handful of sunny days so far this year. But yesterday was nice! Maybe there's hope?

Oh I know! A few weeks ago I was wearing shorts and a t-shirt, this week I've been wearing pants and a sweatshirt and freezing when we go to the dog park. 2 days ago I went to Kings Island (amusement park) and I wore fleece pants, a long sleeved shirt and a fleece sweatshirt over that, and it was STILL cold. So much for water rides!
