    older dog health

hello everyone I'm rather new and I have a question about my older dog's health. He's a 13 year old eskie named 'Wolfy'. He has had few health issues, and those he's had have been quickly taken care of. Lately though I've been feeling large flat lumps under his skin in his chest. I'm taking him to the vet soon, but does anyone have any idea what they might be or if I should be concerned? Thank you.

They are most likely benign fatty tumors. Older dogs are very prone to them. They aren't dangerous or life-threatening. Most vets dont' treat them unless they are interfering with the dog's movements. It's a good idea to have them checked out to make sure that's what they are though.

It's good to hear that's they are likely something to not be worried about. I'll get him checked out anyway, he's due for a check-up. Thank you!

    Definitely have them checked

Each should be needle aspirated by the Vet, and if uncertain sent off to a pathology lab.

If they are lipomas or fatty tumors then you are in luck.

If it turns out to be lymphoma then immediate treatment needs to be started. Usually other signs will occur with Lymphoma such as lethargy, weakness, panting, nausea or any combination of symptoms.

Get em checked out by the Vet for safety.

mm, well he's tired and lays around all the time, but he's done that even before I noticed the lumps. I'll get him to a vet soon anyway.
