6 yrs in jail for animal abuse??

My boyfriend told me he just recently read in the paper, a man got 6 yrs in prison for being head of Pittbull fighting , i havent read or seen the article, did i miss something?? We live in Detroit, and i dont know where he said it took place, but i was wondering if he misread, or if its true? i sure hope there finally giving prison time to animal abuse! Has anyone heard this or read in the paper?

Ive never heard for someone going for 6 years! but he must deserve it Ive heard of similar stories,and they would have to pay a fine,and go to jail or community service for like 2 years,somewhere around there.

6 yrs is a long time for animal abuse,but i'm glad he got it! maybe it'll intemidate the other idiots that abuse their animals.

Whenever I read about animal abuse, I always hate how they only get like 1-2 years, I wish they would finally start giving them more time, as they deserve it
