    I have a ?

I have cats, so never come over here. But I'm doing some research about the WTC rescue dogs and their health, and can't find a piece of data. Do any of you know what the average life expectency of a large breed dog is, like a Lab or Shepherd?

    Thanks!

Hey! Welcome to the dog side

The average life expectancy of a Lab or Shepherd is about 10-12 years, sometimes more, sometimes less.

Almost all large dog breeds are expected to live anywhere between 8-13 years.

    RIP Jasper. I can't believe you're gone.

The bigger the dog is the shorter the life span he has. That's what my vet told me and I have heard that alot of other times too so a Labrador live's 10-12 years usually and a German Shepherd live's usually between 10-13 years. Most large breeds live between 10-14 years. Except for Great Danes and Irish wolfhounds.
