Make sure ferrets are legal in your area, that might be why you aren't finding any!

Look at www.petfinder.org. They will show a list of shelters in your area with ferrets and show the ferrets the shelter has. Its really a great place to go when looking for a pet!

    Good luck!

I'm really not sure. Maybe try calling a local shelter or vet and asking. Or you could call some sort of public office and ask. Try looking online. If you have to, maybe a poilce department would know?

Well see, I have allready called the shelter near me and their response was,"I don't know" the guy played dumb with me. He was basically telling me he doesn't know what ferrits are. But oh well, maybe he really didn't know ya know???
It stinks that animals are illegal in some places. this is what happens when too many animals are being mistreated ya know??

Yeah, it's really sad...I've seen it happen with cetain types of reptiles too...a few people are irresponsible so nobody can have the animals.

Ferrets are illegal in CA........for some reason. I didn't even know what a ferret was until I joined PT!!! Can you believe it? I have NEVER seen one in my life.

Even Quaker parrots are illegal here. At least that's what I've heard.

"Ferrets are illegal in CA because they are part of the weasel family...and known to, if given the opportunity, eat/get chickens. Because CA has so much agriculture and large chicken market, the farmers wanted them banned.

Ferrets are not illegal to treat or buy for in CA, only to own and import into the state."

This is what our vets told us at work...a lot of people ask this question. I would call a vet in your area, they would know for sure.
