Thread: Carina had her blood test.

    Carina had her blood test.

We went to the "white coat" today and he took blood for a CBC. The results should be in tomorrow, if I don't hear from the office it means everything is fine. The vet is very happy with the way the old girl is recovering and how well the "zipper" is healing.
So, once more, thanks for all your prayers and good thoughts.

Glad to hear that Carina is recovering nicely and
that her Vet did not call back.

I did talk to the vet on Saturday. Carina's red cells are a little low, we started her on vitamins, iron and cod liver oil drops today. It's normal for the count to be low after removing the spleen. He wants to do another test in three weeks. Everything else is fine.
Thanks for asking about my girl.

    Alicia,

I'm so glad that Carina is doing so well. The vitamins, iron,
etc. should help her a lot. I wanted to ask if Carina had received
a blood transfusion during the surgery? I read somewhere that
it's necessary sometimes for spleen removal. I was just curious
& if you don't want to dwell on the subject of surgery, I will
certainly understand. Hugs & kisses to sweet Carina. Liz.

No, Liz, fortunately she didn't need a blood transfusion.
