    RIP sweet Jock

    Hi there

Just thought I'd give you all an update on Jock. We took him to the vet school on MOnday and they carried out more blood tests, an ultrasound and a biopsy but unfortunately the diagnosis was cancer which had spread round his liver and spleen. The wee man was obviously in a lot of pain so we had no option but to put him to sleep
I've never done anything so hard in my entire life and I feel rather guilty because I put him through those tests which obviously distressed him but we had to be sure !!!

RIP sweet Jock we'll all miss you loads !!!

You don't have to feel guilty about anything. You've given him a wonderful home these past seven years. Loads of love and understanding when he was a scared wee kitten, but still protecting his scared little sister. Jock knew you loved him. You always did what was best for him, just as you did yesterday.

Lots of tears being shed for him here, but he's free of his pain now.

    Rest in peace sweet baby.

What a hard decision, but one that needed the testing to be sure. If you would have done it WITHOUT the testing you would question the decision forever.
RIP dear Jock. Be happy at the RB.
HUGS to you in your time of sorrow.

    My condolences to you.
Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is a full management plan in which stray and feral cats already living outdoors in cities, towns, and rural areas are humanely trapped, then evaluated, vaccinated, and sterilized by veterinarians. Kittens and tame cats are adopted into good homes. Healthy adult cats too wild to be adopted are returned to their familiar habitat under the lifelong care of volunteers

RIP dear sweet Jock -- I went through the same thing with my RB Goldie earlier this year. The tests were necessary to confirm my suspicions. The vet and I debated on doing more extensive surgery, but we opted not to as it would have been more traumatic for dear Goldie.

It's a difficult decision, but the right one. Jock is now out of his pain and you spared him days, weeks or months of suffering. He is now playing, pain free and healthy at RB. God speed dear kitty.

My very deepest sympathies. I too feel your pain, you may not realize it now but you DID do the right thing for Jock. He will no longer be in pain, and the most important thing is that you gave him a love that no one else in this world could have given him...you gave him YOUR love.

Jock, look for Tony, Tobias and Cleo, they will be waiting for you on the other side of the rainbow bridge.

I am so sorry about beautiful Jock. I had hoped the vet school would offer good news. You took good care of him. Now he's in a happy pain free place.

    Rest in peace sweet Jock.

How sad for you and I know how painful it must have been. Take comfort in knowing that Jock is healthy and pain-free now and is enjoying his second life at the RB. RIP sweet Jock.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

I know how hard it was to let him go. I've been there too. Sadly, sometimes, it's more loving to end their suffering and let them go. I'm sure he knows how much you love him and is glad you set him free. He's safe now where no pain can ever reach him again. He will be happy at the Rainbow Bridge until you meet again.
