I hope your human companions realise how much you deserve a special doggie vacation at the vacation spot of your choice. To Club Puppy Med, perhaps? - or to that famous Hollywood Canine Resort where you'll receive gentle massages and tasty snausages, a spa makeover to restore your youth, and meet some Jack Russell women for wild dancing and romance.

I hope you will be feeling much better soon, Hooch - and that you - because of your loyal and intrepid guardianship of the washing machine - receive more than just the verbal recognition as Dog of the Day.

Having lived with an ill-tempered poodle for 13 years, I've got a soft spot for grouchy dogs, but my enthusiasm was tempered somewhat by hearing of Hooch's recent troubles. However, I imagine his grumpiness provides him with the stoicism that will see him through!

Well I have to second Knatie's idea of a perfect vacation getaway for our bestest Dog of the Day. That's you, Hooch! Also I'd like to recommend you for the first doggie version of Survivor because you evidently have got what it takes.

As to all that grrrring, tell your mom that's not being grumpy, just speaking your piece and letting her know you've got your own idea of how things should go around that house and especially in running your own life. I should know, that little lady on my left (Hannah) can talk up a grrrring storm about anything and everything.

Anyway, Hooch, I do hope that you will recoup completely from your injuiries and illness so you can continue to live the life a JRT is entitled to. Happy Dog of the Day to you, Hooch! We LOVE YOU!

perfect suggestion Knatie! Hooch isn't grumpy-he's being a terrier! Terriers should be treated with the utmost respect and dignity. Old British writer once said the feet of a Jack Russell should never touch anything but the finest oriental carpets! Totally agree! A very dignified tummy rub for being DOTD!!

Mew-mew -- we hope seeing yourself as DOTD has cheered you up big time! Hooch, we are upset that you've had such a bad run but hope you're feeling much better now. Old puppys are extra special and getting on in years means if you're grumpy or growl a little, the fursons just have to give you extra love! That's the best medicine for any pet.

Continue being happy and let your fursons love, spoil and treat you like a king. You deserve it!
