    Make the bed?

A quandary that I often face
Does involve the Katz and his space?
He often sleeps the whole day thru.
So, to me, it's nothing new.

Now that weather can be cold
He sleeps all day, truth be told?
    Hours and hours spent asleep
call him lazy? No great leap.

My man cave, his room too!
A place where I remove my shoes
Have a seat and watch sports
and in the background, hear the snorts

Of a snoring cat, deep in slumber
on the bed, I've got his number.
    Microfiber, blankies, quilt
    He enjoys the sanctuary built

For my whims, crafts and stuff
Heavy on metal, easy on fluff?
and the dustbunnies, which are more cat
than real rabbit, what's up with that?

Edward sleep on a tiny bed.
    under covers, hiding his head
or he blends in with a sheet
that disappearing act, that's kinda neat.

The question is, keeping the bedding
from getting funky, that's where this is heading!
I just have to patiently wait
    Until the cat becomes awake.

    End of Part One.

RICHARD, as soon as I read this I took my laptop over to my mom and read it to her.

She waits to make her bed so Binky (the cat formerly known as Shiney/Shydey) can have as long a sleep as possible.

Once the bed is made, she creates a nest out of a blanket just for him. Sometimes she folds part of her quilt over the nest so he is comfy.

However, the bedding does get laundered regularly!

    Loved the poem!

Kimba always greatly preferred his cat trees to my bed, UNTIL one of my clients gifted me with a new comforter set for Christmas. Now, I have to wait until His Highness awakes before I can even begin to think about making the bed. Cats! Gotta love 'em.

    Part Two.

When he wakes, I make the bed,
That's the idea, in my head?
But, I must wait until he wakes
All my patience, this does take.

Ed wakes up, stretches and yawns
I am just his silly pawn
I wait for his decision, to go or to stay
I may put it off, for another day?

He might stand up and look at me.
Then jump off the bed to take a (urination)!
I take the sheets and all that fits
I hope he's off to take a (defecation)!

That will take a little time.
I have to hurry, no time to whine.
And if it happens he goes to drink
That does give me, time to think.....

    His nap interrupted, nature called?
I see him pacing the house, the halls
Making sure all is right.....he'll patrol again
    during the night!

His main job now it to return to sleep
on clean bedding, what a treat.
He patiently waits, until I'm done.
I changed the sheets! I think I won!

But, the real test is next
what part of the bed, does Ed like best?
The foot, the corner or the head?
He don't care, It's really HIS bed!

I'm just a maid, nothing more
When I listen to his snore
While he slumbers, he goes deep,
With his head, under his feet!

It's all worthwhile, when the weather is cold
That is when we both roll
Into a blanket and watch TV?
It's then the remote, Ed and me.........
