May 2 2012 Meet Up - we went and had a good time!

Our Meet Up group hasn't had a gathering in ages and ages, so when 3 new times were announced, I immediately signed up. That was 3 to 4 weeks ago. Sugar and Marlin hadn't attended the last few with us anyway, they were too old to handle all that young dog energy. I am so glad we went, seeing small dogs and lots of bichons is always a happy occasion! I did give all 3 their bath and trim today so they looked nice. Last minute I grabbed bandannas and my camera. I remembered just in time that in a sea of white it can be hard to find YOUR white dog.

So first I got them up on the sofa for a photo shoot. Now, Lacey has long been known as a "couch potato," ever since I attempted Agility with her 3 to 4 years back, and she made it clear this was NOT her idea of fun. So keep that in mind for these shots -- Dad and I were cracking up!

They stayed in the same order: left to right Lacey, Tasha, Willy.

I tried to have Lacey "sit" with the result which you see next:

Lacey is well known at our Meet Up group - she is ALWAYS in a chair, above the fray. She prefers the few upholstered soft chairs. Tobey's Dad (I only know dog names, not the humans) had been up for something, returned and wanted his chair, so he settled Lacey in his lap.

Then she tried the empty chair next to him - without getting down to the floor first, naturally!

Tasha was VERY EXCITED seeing her friends again! Between no Meet Ups and winter time cancelling our backyard play dates, it had been some time.

A few random shots

I took 3 vids, they are all quite short, so I combined them into one - barely 40 seconds long! I think you will really enjoy seeing Tobey's Dad AGAIN, Tobey is barely visible jumping up from the floor, take a look:

Edited to add: the doggie doing the Bichon Hula is Oliver, Erin's mum's dog. She adopted him from a local shelter about 2 years ago. He is always such a happy dog!

Finally, when everyone was leaving, I asked one of the attendants to take a photo of us for me. From left, Willy, Lacey, Tasha.

I am glad I went, had quite a few laughs, just what I needed at this time!
