Dang spider

Ok so now it is 2:18 am. And I am wide awake, why?
Well for one we just got back from vacation and I am unpacking and doing wash and whatnot.
But mostly it is because as I was rearranging my night stand there was a BIG BLACK SPIDER on the wall behind my pillow. I tried to hit it with a O magazine and the bas&&&d got away.
About 7 minutes later there he is again. DAMN THING!! I am going to kill it. I grab Oprah again, hit him this time and he falls on the carpet. I look down and he is no where to be found.
GREAT GREAT GREAT. Now what the bloody hell am I to do.
You just know that as soon as I turn out the light he will creep and crawl all over my body and bite the living day lights out of me.
He will probably bit my rear end or my back, places difficult to stratch.
Oh I hate spiders. And here are my three boys. Boscoe my big fatty, Ki-Ki Mr. Cutie Pants and Jake a Poo the good boy all sleeping. Jake is actually snoring. Does anyone care about the spider that will bite mommy?
NO, mommy cleaned their potty, gave them ice water and food, petted them and kissed them and now they are on the bed, not even looking for the horrid creature lurking by the bed ready to pounch and give me the willies all night.

The itsy bitsy spider climbed up my bedroom wall.
I hit it with an O magazine and it started to fall.
I looked and looked and could not find it at all
I finally laid down on my bed and started to relax
When the ugly thing ran across my white sheets
Ready to attack.
I grabbed my computed mouse and based it's head in
The itsy bitsy spider is deader then dead.
The legs came off and flew opposite his head.
Now my white sheets have a nasty brown stain.
But the spider is dead and I can relax again.

Ha ha! I have a tiny spider in my closet, never could get him, but he is tiny and few feet away from my bed. Would do no good to clean the closet as he probably relocated.

How about the time I had just groomed Mikey out back and I was laying on my bed with my laptop and a CENTIPEDE crawled out from under my pillow? I SCREAMED, my brother comes running in and sees me crying on the bed like a freak. He finally finds it behind the dresser and Mr. Centipede gets crushed and flushed down the toilet. SCARIEST moment of my life.

SCARIEST moment of my life.

I had a centipede a foot long run over me once. True.

I was getting ready to go to a concert YEARS ago and was barefoot in the bathroom and stepped and felt something weird right along the arch of my foot. When I looked down it was a centipede. I FREAKED out, probably about like you did. I was shaking and couldn't stop crying. I was actually probably a couple years younger than you at the time.

Well, I'm glad you got the darn spider. I really hate it when they are on the ceiling and you can't reach them. I'm always afraid they will come right over me then drop on me.

No, they don't relocate. He's hiding....watching....waiting. Waiting for you to fall into a deep sleep....and then....he will attack.

I've followed this thread with morbid curiosity... am I the only one who catches the offending creepy crawly in a cup/hand, and puts it outside?

No. If I come across a Daddy Long Legs spider in the house, I'll pick him up by one of his long legs and toss him outside. But that's the only spider I can even remotely tolerate. I have an aversion to snakes and slugs too, but at least I don't find them in the house!

The way I see it is, I don't come into their houses whether it be webs, burrows underground, hives, etc...they don't need to come in mine and if they're somehow stupid enough to get stuck in the house...well they're better off dead anyway.

No, you aren't the only one. I live in a very small apartment, which is right next to the door to the outside and the bushes in front of the building. Any living thing I don't want inside with me somehow winds up walking onto a napkin or piece of cardboard or into a box and then being escorted outside.

Most of the little tiny ones, including spiders, I just kind of feel live and let live.. if they won't hurt me, I won't hurt them. Ants and little flying things that spread germs, though, get done away with.

The other day while I was taking a shower I saw a tiny little black caterpillary-looking thingy maybe an inch long at the top of the shower curtain by a ring hole. I considered what to do about him.. first thinking "You got up there, you get down now," ..or somehow either interrupting my shower or waiting until I finished it, then gently opening the shower curtain, getting out, finding some kind of container to edge him (her? or are they "its"?) off into.. then having him wait in it while I got enough cover-up on to take him outside and set him loose. But before I finished the shower, he disappeared.. he was no longer up where he had been and I didn't see him anywhere else around there.. so I'm hoping he got somewhere safe.

I didn't "let" him do anything... by the time I saw him, he'd already been scoping out the whole scene.

That must have been what happened.. He thought "Now I've seen everything!" and departed for wherever they go.

If there's one thing that will have me running out of the house it's a spider. I don't care what the size is, I just freak if I spot one. I also never kill one - I just run and scream for someone else to come to my aid...
