I need a lactating mama cat in CT...

Okay, I know I said never again. But this precious baby was found in the gutter in the ghetto of Hartford. People just kept walking by looking at it. If these two boys hadn't brought her home to their mother, she would have died. Miracle (that's what I call her) is a beautiful tortie, approximately 3-7 days old. Diana, the woman whose boys took her in, had been getting up every 2 hours feeding Miracle with a syringe.

She's very beautiful and feisty as hell. I am so torn. I told Diana I'd take her home, get up with her every two hours, make her strong and get her spayed before returning her. The neighborhood is a slum and they already have a dog, fish and parakeets. I'm so afraid that one of the kids will accidentally let the cat out. It's not the kind of neighborhood I'd want her in.

I'll try and get some pictures. She's the size of my hand.

You can say "I told you so" now.

With it being "kitten season" the shelters may have many lactating moms with other kits...maybe check with them, or your vet.

You know, those Bridge kitties of yours sure have a way of directing the needy ones to you don't they? They know that you won't say "NO" and that you'll do your best by these ones in need. You ROCK Donna!!!

Sorry I didn't see this earlier in the day. I too think phoning around to the vets in the area will in you a momma cat. Check with the ER vets too.

No way I can say "told you so," not with my track record!
