Officer Shoots Woman, Pit Bull Playing

Our goal in life should be - to be as good a person as our dog thinks we are.

Thank you for the siggy, Michelle!

Geez, maybe instead of shot first and ask questions later it should have been the other way around. Thank goodness no one was killed.

My thing is she gets out of her car and just starts shooting. How can she be certain not to hit the "victim"?

And yeah, thank god she is a lousy shot. I would think you'd be able to tell the difference between sounds of playing and sounds of terror or screaming from being attacked by a dog.

There are a number of ways to disable a dog without shooting it...did the officer even let anyone know she was there? I thought maybe asking "Do you need help?" first would have been in order or at least a warning that she was about to fire. I don't want police officers around that will just take a shot without warning unless someone is shooting at them first. Did the dog have a gun?

This police officer could not tell the difference between an owner and her dog player and someone being attacked. Sounds like he needs some serious training.

When I was a little girl... lo those many years ago... we had a German Shepard that used to play "shake-a-leg". He would grab the cuff of my old jeans and drag me around the yard. I would laugh and it was a game. One day some guy drove by the house and stopped but yelled first "are you OK?? What's going on??" I said "WE ARE PLAYING SHAKE-A-LEG!! He laughed too and said.. "have fun little girl" and shook his head with a smile. He certainly did not pull out a durn gun...
