    Tigris -the report :( #135

Getting older is not for the faint-hearted. That seems to be true for cats as well.
We noticed last week that Tigris has put on an extra two lb. It worried me already as he had been 13 lb all his grown-up life and it never changed. The first thing is we cannot understand we didn't see it earlier as he looks as if he's pregnant.
We thought he had profited from us always trying to make sure that Filou eats. He really loves Filou's renal kibbles. So we tried to only give him wet food which he doesn't like so much AND to control his intake. But on one hand he doesn't seem to lose weight plus we are not sure whether he pooped. He definitely didn't do it today. And he is ok- but not his purrfect friendly self. He didn't want his tummy rubbed at the weekend and he spends most of the time doing the meatloaf.
So he's off to the vet tomorrow. It anyway was time.
Let's hope it is something simple and keep paws crossed.

Someone here posted about feeding a capsule of salmon oil to their constipated kitty in the cat food...and I guess it worked wonders!

I hope Tigris' problem is that simple and that he feels better soon!

I hope there's nothing serious wrong with gorgeous Tigris.

It sounds like a good idea to have his tummy checked, though. Have you tried giving him a mix of Hills W/D-S/D? That helped Fister - although recently, he has had Royal Canin's S/O, which also seems to be good for him.

Sending lots of good wishes for a succesful vet visit - and kisses to Tigris.

Sending a little prayers that Tigris is okay, or that it's something easily solvable!

Sometimes putting on weight is a byproduct of getting older...(don't I know!)

Hope that is all it but will be holding positive thought for my buddy Tigris!

    Barbara,

I am so sorry to have just read this thread and to know that Tigris is having such difficulty. He is so dear and so young still.

Please know my thoughts are with you and Seigmar and that Eve will be hoping for miracles from the great cat god.

    Hugs to all,
    Eve and her meowmie
