How Fast Do Your Cats Eat a 15 Lb. Bag

Hi All,

We recently switched our 9 cats to California Natural cat food. Our guys seem to like it and it seems like we are going through a lot of the food.

The food only comes in a 15 lb. bag but I just purchased in on July 24, 2009 and now we are low again. I will probably be out in the next day or two.

So a 15 lb. bag has lasted me ~14 days. I have about 8 food bowls and I measure out the food, they get 1/2 cup of food a day and I put an extra 1/2 cup in the bigger bowl since I don't have 9 food bowls out.

How fast do your cats go through a bag of food? Maybe I never paid much attention to how many times I had to buy cat food since this is a tad pricier.

Just curious.

Yup - thats how fast we go through that size bag too. When it was just 5 cats, we had 4 weeks for a 17 pound bag. But 8 cats? Its like it evaporates!

Yup the food goes real fast at my house as well.. My large Cosco bag will last 2 to 3 wks at the most.. I also feed other brands of dry as well..

I used to have 6 cats but even now with only 5 I don't see much of a difference. I buy Innova Evo in the largest bags which is a little over 15lbs. They last me about 1 month or so. I think it's because I feed Storm a lot of canned food so he doesn't eat as much of the dry as the others do. They eat about 1/2 cup or a bit less a day and now I'm also giving all of them some canned at night. I'm always buying at least 2 bags at once so I don't have to go to the pet store so often.
