    flower power!

can you tell where the bird feeder used to be, and what type of seeds were in it? LOL

I don't mind them. They're pretty and not in the way of anything. The biggest is about the size of a saucer at the moment, including the petals.

Those are so beautiful!!! They just grew by themselves? WOW!!! I hope Lut sees these pictures. She sent a bunch of us sunflower seeds from Belgium and we planted them and posted pictures. Those are incredible. Great pics!!

Absolutely gorgeous! It always amazes me how quickly and easily sunflowers germinate. When we had a wooden bird table I would always have to pick the seedlings out which had germinated in tiny cracks.

i have that little clump there, plus a couple stragglers a few feet away. I don't know how the seeds avoided getting eaten to begin with. Between the birds and the squirrels everything usually gets picked pretty clean. Only thing I can think of is that patch is next to a stump we're trying to get rid of, maybe some seeds got covered with fresh dirt when we were digging the roots out. There's a good chance the feeder got bumped a time or two with the shovel before I moved it further out.

That brings back memories. We grew sunflowers when we were kids and they were always twice as tall as we were.

    Beautiful pics!
