Does your dog sleep on his/her back?

Casey is the first dog I have ever owned that sleeps on her back. She is almost 13 years old and it still makes me laugh whenever I see her sleeping belly up. Just wondering how many PT doggies sleep on their backs?

Here is a recent picture. She definitely knows how to get comfortable.

Sparky does occasionally, tho Myndi never does. She probably thinks it wouldn't be befitting to Her Most Royal Highness!

My son had a shepherd mix (named Casey) that used to sleep like this all the time. Must be something in that name...

It's Heyoka's favorite sleeping position, especially when it's -40 and sunny! He loves getting his belly cold!

Chance likes to nap upside down. When he does, he snores like a freight train.

    Taggart does it quite often

Tiki doesn't sleep on her back all that much. She prefers to sleep underneath blankets and such... doesn't like getting cold, I guess.

Love that pic - one eye open and one eye closed. Tired, but doesn't want to miss anything. Too cute....

While I'm posting this Koko is asleep on the love seat, on her back with
both legs spread in a very unlady like manner. She also snores when in this position.

Missy my Australian Shepherd lays on her back & sleeps on the dog couch downstairs (yes my dogs have their own couch) & she will lay on her back on the throw rug & sleep. My old deceased Australian Shepherd Bob Barker slept with his feet in the air. It must be a natural thing for the Australlian Shepherds.

Neither one of my Collies do, but I use to have a lil' Cairn Terrier that would lay on her back on the pillow next to my head. She'd have her back feet resting on my shoulder and would periodically kick me in the head, as she jockeyed for more space.

I'm also enjoying the "belly up" photos

Lots of belly rubs to all the doggies in this thread

Here's one of Zoee when she was a puppy. Sorry it's a bit x-rated.

    And here's one of Taggart.

They both sleep on their back quite often. These were just the pix I already had on photobucket.
Oh, and I know he's not a dog but.........
Our goal in life should be - to be as good a person as our dog thinks we are.

Thank you for the siggy, Michelle!

    Sleeping on her back..

My Jack Russell, Stitch, sleeps on her back under the blankets in between daddy's legs. He is so uncomfortable with her there, but he doesn't have the heart to move her. Our other JRT, Lilo, just curls up in a ball on her bed. I'll send a picture of Stitch when I download it.
I love my Jack Russells, Lilo & Stitch!
