Think of Mz Logan, Please *update 3/10/09*

Luckily I haven't ever had to start a post under Health for Mz Logan. But I noticed today that there was a slight growth on top of her left eyelid. It's hard to explain, but as of this morning, her lashes are stuck together and crusty. She only rubbed her eye once that I noticed, and believe me, I've been watching her like a hawk. Her eye itself seems OK. She's been letting me raise her lid and look at it, so I don't think it hurts, but it has to be annoying. It looks cyst like, but it developed overnight, or so I think. I hug and kiss her all day and didn't notice anything terrible yesterday. It seemed to pop up overnight. My first thought was that she hurt herself outside, from a branch or maybe a critter.

Anyway, she has a vet appointment at 1030a on Wed. with my fave doc, the owner. He hasn't seen Logan since I got her, as he's cut his hours, but I take it as a good omen that I got an immediate appointment with Dr Fox (cute, huh?)

Please, if you have time and remember, keep Mz Klo in your thoughts that nothing is serious with her big beautiful brown eye. Thanks all.

I will be thinking of Logan tomorrow and I really hope it is something that can easily be fixed.
Our goal in life should be - to be as good a person as our dog thinks we are.

Thank you for the siggy, Michelle!

Kisses and well wishes for Klo. I do hope it's something simple and not serious. At least you didn't have to wait long for an appointment. Leaves less time for worrying.

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.
    I miss you

I gently pet you and say, no bad dreams
It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.

How I wish I could hold you near.
Turn back time to make it so.
Hug you close and never let go.

    Prayers for K-Lo!

When RB Ozzy arrived here as a foster he has an eyelid cyst. His was in a position such that it rubbed the eye every time he blinked. The vet was able to remove it in a half day stay, with sedation, not anesthesia.

I do hope this one is similarly easy to deal with!

Prayers & positive thoughts for Mz Logan. I hope it's only a minor
    problem. (((Hugs))) Logan.

Mz Logan had her eye surgery today. It only took an hour but she was caged up until 430p.

The doc was debating whether to operate since her infection got worse, despite meds. But she carefully thought it over and decided that an opthamologist would do the same procedure. She's a great surgeon so I trust her.

She wouldn't be able to avoid making Logan's left eye look smaller than the right one. Logie has about a 1 inch incision over her eye with stitiches. It's very swollen and she's on Rimadyl for a few days, and a antibiotic cream. The worse part is her cone head. She's gotten it off 2x already but I quickly got it back on. It's on pretty sturdy, but she was determined. She's ramming into things and hesitates doing steps. The doc took a biopsy so we hope all is OK. I've been hobbling without crutches, completely forgetting about my foot cast because my main concern is my sweet baby-boo.

I know her eye problem isn't as bad as some other ailments our pups have here, but I'm still a nervous wreck and won't sleep until next week when stitches are out and I know she's OK. It's so dumb that I'm concerned about her physical features. She has the most beautiful huge brown eyes. I feel terrible for thinking of such a stupid thing.

If you remember, please keep my booboo in your thoughts.

don´t be silly your baby´s boo boo is also something to worry about... no matter if other issues sound more worrying... anything happening to any furbutt is equally concerning and deserving of good thoughts and healig vibes...

and don´t think that your concern for her physical looks is dumb... we all think about our cuties looks...what mommy wouldn´t be

but no matter what, Mz K-Lo will always be just as cute

OF Course you are worrying about her eyes ..... they drew you to her initially. That is totally ok, and we understand, you know that
    Wishing her a speedy recovery.

I'm sure our girl is in good hands now that she is back home with mom. Keep us posted on how the recovery is going. I don't envy the e-collar. Mine would have a stroke if they had to wear one.
    Love you girls.

Karen I am late getting to this thread but just wanted to say how happy that I am for you that it is over and she is back with you. Too bad you couldn't have brought her into my office. My boss does these kinds of procedures all the time, but I doubt Mz. Logan would have wanted to sit still in the chair. LOL! Kisses to your sweetie from her auntie.

    No more lamspshade head!
The operating vet did a terrific job! Mz Klo's eyelid is still a bit red and swollen but after a few more days of medicine she should be fine. She looks almost the same, and is as happy as can be! She's been playing and running around and smiling, smiling, smiling!

We had to muzzle her only during the last stitch which was under her eyelid, otherwise she was awesome!!! She endured everything so well.

Now, if I can get more pictures...she'll be totally 100% perfect!
Thanks for your comments and prayers!

I am sure she looks just as gorgeous as ever, mom Karen.
