Have you already owned your heart and soul pet?

Just wondering if anyone has ever owned their heart and soul dog, cat, rabbit, ferret, horse, etc already?

I voted yes, I've owned and still am owned by my heart bird Star. I love that little cutie. I guess it sounds silly but Jer was my heart and soul hermit crab. She was perfect in every way for me.

    What about you?

3rd option explanation- I believe you can have more one heart and soul pet but they one of each type

My heart cat is 16 year old Mollie Rose. Then came my soulmate, MooShoo, a hairless cat that just grabbed me by my heart strings. He's in my bed every night with his head on HIS pillow. His love is unconditional. Can't say that about all the guys I've dated.

Rest In Peace Casey (Bubba Dude) Your paw print will remain on my heart forever. 12/02
Mollie Rose, you were there for me through good times and in bad, from the beginning.Your passing will leave a hole in my heart. We will be together "One Fine Day". 1994-2009
MooShoo, you left me too soon.I wasn't ready.Know that you were my soulmate and have left me broken hearted.I loved you like no other. 1999 - 2010See you again "ONE FINE DAY"
Maya Linn, my heart is broken. The day your beautiful blue eyes went blind was the worst day of my life.I only wish I could've done something.I'll miss your "premium" purr and our little "conversations". 1997-2013 See you again "ONE FINE DAY"

For sure! Frisk was my heart dog, without a doubt. I have him set so high up on a pedestal that I don't believe he could have ever done anything wrong. He was so in tune with me.. almost like he could read my mind and always know exactly what to do. He was everything anyone could ever ask for. He was always there for me at the highest of the highs and the lowest of the lows. He was my best friend. :-)

I am completely lost without him but oh so grateful I had to privilege to be owned by such an amazing being. I can't wait to see him again someday.

I have two of my heart pets still with me now.
Taz is definitely my heart cat. He has been with me through SOO much. And I've been with him through a lot of his health issues too. I can't imagine life without him.

And I believe Zoee is my heart dog. I say believe, because I'm not sure if I feel that way because she's really MY first dog. I grew up with dogs, but they were my sisters. Zoee is MINE. I guess I can't tell right now. But I think she is. While I love Taggart, Zoee is my baby girl. Even with the behavior issues she has. Hmmm...maybe that's why she has these issues.
It's actually sad because since getting Taggart, Zoee has sorta distanced herself from me. She'd rather stay outside and run the fence line then come inside. Probably because of the annoying little brother. Hopefully that will change as Taggart gets older.
Our goal in life should be - to be as good a person as our dog thinks we are.

Thank you for the siggy, Michelle!

I believe Chloe is my heart dog. She is my best friend and we share a special bond. It's almost as if she could finish my sentences if she could talk. I love her very much.
    Owned by two little pastries!

My angel girl Jubilee. She passed away at 14 1/2 years old. I still miss her & always will. Is it possible to have two soul dogs? If so, then Lady is the second. She is my complete baby. As for the cats, Stinky will forever be my soul cat. Princess too.

Yes, no doubt about it. Peaches was my heart dog. It's funny, when I first went to see her I wasn't sure I wanted to take her home with me, because she was bigger than what I thought I wanted. But the people who were trying to rehome her, basically put her leash on her, handed me her favorite toy, and pushed us both out the door (okay I am exaggerating ). However, Peaches was also my first dog, and I knew nothing about raising a dog. But Peaches was just a year old, and she knew everything she needed to know about being a dog, and teaching someone how to be a good dog mom. She was always one step ahead of me, and was very patiently and loving me bringing me along with her. If Peaches wasn't such wonderful first dog, there would most likely not have been a second or third dog. Yes, I have owned my heart pet, and I thank her for all that she shared with me every single day.

Yes, Rosie was my heart dog. I was insanely in love with that girl. Everyone else pretty much thought she was a doofus. I was heartbroken when she was died at only 3 years old. (she ran out in front of a truck)

I would say that Star and Chow Chow have been my soul pets. I'm just so connected to both of them, it's like we can read each others minds. Star is my first dog. I'd owned at least a dozen cats before Chow Chow, but he was MY cat, with me for 17 years.

Sadie May is my heart dog, and she always will be. No dog or person could ever replace that girl. I love her with all my heart, and I don't know what I will even do without her.
ETA: I mean, I've had the girl since I was 6 years old!

I said yes, but I believe there are more than just one heart/soul pet for each person. I believe that about soulmates for people, too, though.

This is hard for me to answer. I've loved all of my furries dearly.

Duke has been our family dog and in my life since I was two or three- a very young age. I was almost too young to be able to make memories with him while he was a young pup.

So although I've grown up with him, I think there's still going to be room for another heart and soul pet that's completely mine (I have a strong feeling it'll be a dog, too.).

Aslan on the other hand, is four years old. We still have plenty of time grow together!

out of shape and a little worn around the edges, but they fit well."
NEW ADDITION: 6 lovely Rhode Island Reds!
