    Reaction to shots?

Okay so Dr. Apple came by at about 11:00am, to give Sadie & Rita their shots. I took Rita for a walk at about 2:00, and Rita threw up twice. After she threw up, I immediatly called my mom to come and pick us up.... She is very lethargic, walks extremly slow, and has ashy white gums. I had to life her into the car to get home, and life her back out of the car. Called the clinic, and Dr. Apple is coming by soon.
Please say some PT prayers for my Rita girl! I am a VERY worried mother.

Oh my, I hope Rita is okay. Were these shots they've had before?
Our goal in life should be - to be as good a person as our dog thinks we are.

Thank you for the siggy, Michelle!

Oh my, that really is scary. Prayers going out for Rita. I have to believe it has to have some connection to the shots. I hope Dr. Apple can figure out what it is. I am glad Sadie seems to be alright. Let us know what he says.

Thanks you two for your replies. I believe these were shots they have had before, the combo one. Dr. Apple came by a little while ago, just to check and see how Rita was doing. She's back to her normal, goofy as heck Labby girl!

    Thanks again!

Do you get these for her yearly? If so, you may want to consider going every other year, every three years, or even better - titering. The titers would tell if her immunity was low (usually a dog is fine for a long time, even a lifetime, from one series of shots). If that's not something you want to do, try going with individual shots and spacing them out by a week or more.

Shot reactions can be very serious. I'm glad Rita's feeling better though

Now she has hives. Dr. Apple just left and gave her a cortosone shot, the hives will go away in a couply of hours. She is panting heavily, and can't seem to sit still. She's walking around the house, and I imagine she's very itchy. Poor baby, I really can't stand seeing her like this.
    PT prayers needed for Rita!
