    why is she biting him

i have just registered here & not sure what im doing on this computer yet but here goes my question: i have a naughty tortie (is there any other kind?) & laila is 5 but its like having an army of 2 year olds around me. anyway i groom both her & my gentle boycat everyday but no matter if she gets brushed before him or after him immediately when i am finished doing her she jumps off the table, runs over to him, & bites him! what is this? she does like being groomed because soon as she sees the comb in my hand she jumps up on the table. mrscat (because when i love a cat its till death do us part)

I have no answer, BUT she is a TORTIE!!!
I would check your boy for wounds, so you would know if an abcess develops, depending on how hard she bit him.
I had a white tortie for 16 years. Boo did strange things, too... Welcome to Pet Talk!!

It might well be a jealousy issue , or your Tortie deciding that she is the Boss Cat , and keeping your Boycat in his place.
Pouncer , my first Cat was like that with Mr Scrappy at first , but eventually they were my Damon and Phythias , and Dear Companions, as they are now at the Rainbow Bridge.
So I wouldnt worry about this, they have the way of working themselves out

It's called Tortitude!!! My tortie bites me if I stop petting her. Or if she wants to be fed and I'm asleep.

I have to agree with Donna. IT'S TORTATUDE. Our Main Coon ET (nick name DIVA) wants to be the boss all the time. She will growl and nip if you do not pet or brush at the right time and god forbid that you stop with out her permission. You will get the growl then the paw, with nails first then the nip.
On the other hand she is just a big lover as long as it is on her terms.
Our little one Boots, only 6 lb, is an in house feral and she has the same attitude. She will come to me 1 or 2 times a month and when she does it is my privilege to pet and/or scratch at her whim.
