Another cat I am helping... PICS ADDED!

Last night me and hubby went to dinner after he got off work late. While entering the restaurant, I saw the cooks out back talking to a cute orange and white kitty. We went in to eat, and while leaving, I saw her again. I got out kitty food and she came running. It is very clear she was dumped there.

I reached down to pet her and immediately got sick to my stomach. You could feel every single bone on her back. I looked closer ( it was DARK behind the restaurant!) and I could see all of the bones on her head too. I felt so bad for her.

Anyways, since my husband was with me, and was complaining and in a nasty mood to begin with, I had to leave her. I did check to see with my cell phone if she was a she or he! On the way home I kept begging Rickie to let me take her, but he would not budge.

SO- I posted an add, and found 2 people willing to take her. One here in my hometown, and the other in Mass.

The one from Mass said she will pay for her to go to the vet, the health cert. to fly, and the plane ticket to get her there.
I will pay the vet and buy her the cage(it is only fair for me to pay that part). This woman and I have been in contact before, and she does rescue..

The other lady said that she could take her, fatten her up and vet her, and rehome her... OR if not, just adopt her herself.

I just need to talk to them both over the phone, to see what is best.

Anyways, I just need prayers that when I go back today she is still there, and I can get her a loving new home, with someone who WONT throw her out like garbage.

And RANT- To the scumbags who left her in that horrible neighborhood, and busy intersection- May you rot for what you did to her.

Oh I hope that she will still be there and you can help her. It could even be that she escaped from a loving home and has been on her own looking for scraps to stay alive since she allowed you to pet her. Where I work we are near a couple of restaurants. In the past I used to see literally a dozen or more kitties out by the dumpsters. They were 100% feral and would run at the sight of me. I assume they were eating restaurant leftovers and many times cringed at the thought that they might go in the dumpster when it was trash day. I don't even want to think too much about that.

I wonder if she might be to thin and ill to fly? Although the lady in Mass said she would pay for the checkup.

I wonder if the lady in your town could foster her while she is being vetted and fattened up, with the Mass lady paying for it - unless the local lady decides to keep her. A bit of a tough call. I would hope the local lady would involve the vet in kitty's care!

Today kitty was taken to the vet to get tested, vetted and spayed.

The vet said she has ear mites, is negative on all disease, so they went ahead with the spay. Since she was so skinny, noone knew that she was actually pregnant. I feel so bad for her, but I think it is best for her. Since she is so skinny and frail, the vet will keep her until Wednesday afternoon.

Please pray that momma cat is ok, and that the she has a wonderful life from now on.... Melanie says she is so sweet and she is glad she adopted her!

Katie,Thanks for keeping us updated about her. I'm so glad to hear that she was negative on all of those nasty diseases. Ear mites are very easy to treat so I'm sure she'll get rid of these in no time.

I'm sorry to hear that she was already pregnant but I'm so glad that you were able to rescue her because she and or her kittens may not have survived. I hope that she recovers quickly from her spay. I know that she's now in good hands and has a very loving forever home to go back to. Please pat yourself on the back for another wonderful rescue.

I'm just now seeing this but it sounds like a great outcome for Honey. Her new home sounds like a very good one.

I'm sure she will do fine from her spay. My Scout was pregnant when rescued but they didn't know it until the spay. She suffered a hematoma (sp?) at the incision site but that had nothing to do with the pregnancy. She recovered 100% quickly.

    You did good Katie!!!

Great job Katie, I too know the problems with multi cat homes. All we can do is try our best. It seems that you have done just that. If we had a bigger home we, like you, we would have many more but space is limited. So you just have to draw the line some where. Good luck and god bless.
