July Hikes in Alberta - wildflowers, water and trees! (many pics!)

First - Troll Falls, in what we call 'the Kananaskis' . Some flowers I don't know the names of, so would appreciate input. It would also be interesting to know if these flowers are called by other names where you live.

Dogwood - provincial flower of BC (you thought it was that OTHER plant, right? )

    Indian Paintbrush

    MYSTERY flower - name?

    Wild Iris

Wild Rose - provincial flower of Alberta. There are two, the 'Rosa woodsii' and the 'Rosa acicularis'; the latter is the emblem...but darned if I can find a difference!

Tired 10-yr-old Peanut - she and doggy friend Pessa ( a rescue from Mexico, 3 yrs old) came on the 2+ hr hike. Both were given frequent water and rest breaks - but Peanut was SO happy to lie in Mom's arms at the end!

What lovely photos, and what beautiful scenery and flowers! Thank you, Candace.

Is the plant with the bell-like flowers a Lily of the Valley?
