    Self Portrait in Unusual Location

A friend and I were headed home last night and saw this chair. I wanted to take a pic of it so badly but it was near dusk and not a good time. So, I went back today and decided to put myself in it, as well. I couldn't spend a lot of time there as it was on the interstate. I was kind of nervous with all the traffic whizzing by but had to get a pic of that chair in the middle of nowhere. I guess someone dumped it. It only had a little stuffing coming out of the seat. I was pleasantly surprised to find out it wasn't wet despite all the rain we'd been having.

And here I am. I wish I'd had more time or someone with me to take the pics. I could have gotten some more without being as nervous. People probably wondered who was that crazy woman?

And I took this back in December when it was cold here. The wind was blowing just right and the sun shining on the smoke. I think it's oddly pretty.

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.
    I miss you

I hear you whimper in your sleep
I gently pet you and say, no bad dreams
It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.

Fur as dark as the night.
    Join me on this flight.
Paws of love that follow me.
In my heart you'll forever be.
    [/SIZE]

How I wish I could hold you near.
Turn back time to make it so.
Hug you close and never let go.

Ha ha, that's too funny Val! Did anyone honk at you? Up the road a ways, there's a toilet sitting out by the road, I suppose for the garbage. Hmm...should I?

Actually, this huge motor home drove by and honked. The horn was so low it sounded like a foghorn. It was definitely my laugh for the day and for a while. I love being spontaneous like that and doing something crazy every once in a while. Keeps you young.

Val, can I be completely honest?

I absolutely love that first picture. I don't know why, but just the colors stand out to me so much that I find it interesting and unique!
You're the one sure thing I've found so you better stick around...

Try that around here, and the police will have you with a ticket in NO time.

    "Is this YOUR chair, ma'am?"

If you answer YES, then you get a ticket for having it improperly secured so it causes a hazard falling off into traffic.

If you answer NO, then you get it ticket for pulling over and causing a traffic hazard while you are looking at it.

Dad had this happen; someone lost a ladder and, being a good Home Depot / DIY kind o' guy, he stopped to get the ladder. It WAS on the side of the road, on the break down lane on the slow side. Not his ladder, so the officer confiscated it and Dad left with . . . just a ticket, for his efforts!

That first shot is really great!

Great shot. It needs a sign saying "Redneck Rest Stop".

The people who lost it out of a truck are probably turning around to go
back for it. What would you tell them?

Finders keepers, losers weepers. Great shots! I agree with Anna. I would never have the nerve to sit there on the interstate!

I would pay to see that! Please do. If I were there, I'd be your partner in crime.

Thanks girl. I've got a couple of the woods and the chair without the road that I think look much better. I'll put them up tomorrow.

I'll tell you what. If that chair is still there on Tuesday, I'll go up there and put one on it, then take another pic. That's hilarious!

lizbud, you beat me to it! I was going to say "Redneck Bus Stop"!

    Classic shot, Val!

Now waiting for the toilet shot...Hey, "Redneck Rest Stop" would be even more perfect for that shot!

I suppose the toilet is covered in a snow drift right about now. In the little town I live in, I'd sure end up in jail!
