Upcoming Northern California Cat Shows In 2008! Anyone Interested In Attending?

    Hi,
I haven't been to a cat show since Jan.2007 so I really need another cat show experience very soon. I went through the Cat Fanciers Association website for 2008 and this is what I came up with.

    Jan.2008:
05-06(L). CA, SAN MATEO: San Mateo Expo Center - Cypress Hall, 2495 South Delaware Street. Tails and No Tales Cat Club. 6AB, 2Spec. Judges: White(AB), Trevathan(AB), Wilford(AB), Osier(AB), Newkirk(AB), TBA(AB), Webster(LH/SH), Lyons(LH/SH). Entry limit 225. Info: Ken Brown, 16355 San Ramon Drive, Morgan Hill, CA 95037. 408-779-0092. Fax 408-779-5192. Email [email protected].

    March 2008:
    08-09(L). CA, HAYWARD: Centennial Hall, 22292 Foothill Boulevard. Franciscan Silver & Golden Fanciers. 6AB, 2Spec. Judges: Ayers(AB), Miller(AB), Auth(AB), Harding(AB), Nye(AB), Yurchick(AB), Jaeger(LH/SH), Webster(LH/SH). Entry limit 225. Info: Neta Cox, 3226 Filbert Avenue, Clovis, CA 93611. Phone/Fax 559-322-5278. Email [email protected].

    For You AmberLee:
    29(L). CA, STOCKTON: San Joaquin Fairgrounds 1658 South Airport Way Building 2. High Sierra Cat Club. 6AB. Judges: Gradowski(AB), Dodds(AB), Lyons(AB), Ayers(AB), Rogers(AB), TBA Baugh(AB). EF $49 1st & 2nd, $36 3rd+, CD March 23; entry limit 225. Info: Nancey Abbott, 10571 Foothill Boulevard, Cupertino, CA 95014. 408-564-5442. Fax 408-564-5832. Email: [email protected].

    April 2008:
05-06(P). CA, PLEASANTON: Crow Canyon Cat Club. Judges: Newkirk, K. Lawrence, Rothermel.

    Nov. 2008:
01-02(P). CA, SAN JOSE: Santa Clara Valley CF. Judges: Colilla, Honey, Webster, Newkirk, Nye, Orlando, Everett-Hirsch. This may be the one that's held at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds.

Of course these are all subject to change. Right now I'm hoping to be able to go the San Mateo cat show which is on Jan. 5th and 6th. Does any one else want to go?

Whooohooo. These look terrific. I'm trying to see if I can clear my schedule for several of these, especially the one in early January.

I'd love to go to the San Mateo one, however I'm having oral surgery on 1/4 and don't know if I'll be feeling up to it.

    Thumbs up

I think we've been to Tails and No Tails before. I'll be starting rehearsals for my third "Candide", but if I can fit in a visit, I'll be glad to join you.

Hi Ali. No of you don't need to have a cat to attend. I'm sure that there are a lot of people that go to cat shows that don't own a cat. Some go to see the different kinds of breeds and learn more about them. Sometimes this will help them decide what kind of a cat to get in the future. It's a lot of fun and I'm sure that you'd enjoy it.

    Updated Cat Show!!!

Hi, I just found out tonight that there's a local cat show on March 15th and 16th and it's going to be in San Jose at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds which is off of Tully Road. Here's the info from the website:

    15-16(L). CA, SAN JOSE: Santa Clara Fairgrounds, 344 Tully Road. San Francisco Revelers. 8AB. Judges: Fuller(AB), Miller(AB), Zenda(AB), Orlando(AB), Adkison(AB), Sumner(AB), Salisbury(AB), Rogers(AB). EF $55 1st, $45 2nd, $40 3rd+, CD March 9; entry limit 225. Info: Ken Brown/JoAnn Cordes-Brown, 16355 San Ramon Drive, Morgan Hill, CA 95037. Phone/Fax 408-779-5192. Email [email protected] [email protected].

I don't think that I can go on Saturday because they're doing fire alarm testing in two of my buildings and one of them is mine. They start at 9am and go until they're done. I don't know if my building will be the first or the second one tested so Sunday would be a better day for me to go.

My mom cut out the add in the San Jose Mercury News and she said it was in "The Eye". It has a $1 off coupon on it and it says that adults are $8, Seniors are $6, and children under 12 are $4. It's open from 10am-5pm on Saturday and from 9am-5pm on Sunday. I'd like to go fairly early on Sunday. Does anyone else want to go?

Wow. This DOES sound great. Saturday's impossible for me ... I'm dithering around to see if I can clear Sunday to go. It'd be great to see a cat show again. (Not to mention some of my wonderful PT pals!)

I'd like to get there by 10-10:30am or so because then the cats are so much more alert. If we go around lunch time they all seem to sleeping and then everyone there breaks for lunch too.

RedHedd can't make it. Don Juan's Mom has an audition in San Jose but can possibly make it later in the day. I hope that you can make it AmberLee. We can just try to watch out for people or if we know when they'll arrive then we can set up a meeting place and time. I'll bring my camera this time too. I'm sure we'll all have a great time.

I'm safely home, and exhausted. It was wonderful catching up with KAK, seeing beautiful cats (and more beautiful cats), checking out vendors.

I fell in love with a shirt until KAK pointed out the price tag. YIKES! It didn't hurt so bad after that it was too small for me.

Here's my big purchase of the day. Please note that the tail peeking out of the kitty sleeping bag belongs to Cassy. He's been in there for almost 3 hours now. Think he likes it?

(He's turned around now and one paw is sticking out, instead.)
