Nice photo! My Dad was in the Navy in WW II. We are going to a Veterans Day celebration on Sunday.

my mom was Jane Tupacz (1917-2001)
she served as a captain in the Army Nurse Corps in World War II
she was stationed on a hospital ship near Sicily
she was working as a charge nurse at Mt. Sinai in NY and since she was still single in her mid 20's, she decided to join the ANC.

my father (1924- ) served during World War II in what was then known as the Army Air Corps. (aviation portion of the US Army)
He served as crew member (in-flight mechanic) of a brand new 1943 C-47 "Gooney Bird." I just spoke with my dad today and asked him to reminisce about his earliest memories. He told me that a replica of his original brand new aircraft he was assigned to throughout the war - was put on display recently at Fayetteville, NC just a few years back at a new museum built there. It is suspended from the ceiling and even has his name painted on the side I would like to see that someday.

I remember them both on this Veteran's Day 2007

    Never to be forgotten.

Thanks to all who serve, have served or are related to them.

I was listening to a C&W station today and they ran a promo that said,

Do not forget the people who who serve - They protect your right to protest against the war.
