When it rains, it pours!! I'm so screwed!! UPDATE: Mericle on post #7

Looks like Digi has a bladder infection & Tape Worm (saw that nasty thing yesterday eww)

The vet near my place wants (its the cheapest so far)

    60.00 for the visit
    50.00 for the urin test
    15.00-30.00 for the meds
    20.00 for the deworming
    +tax

I'm rushing home & am going to be going through the pokemon cards now. I hope Digi can wait a few more days, so I can sell my things.

Why are vets so darn expensive!
    This really sucks bad!!
After this I have no idea how I'm going to be able to afford her puppy shots.
    *bangs head on desk*

My Norco Mt. Bike, & JP figures collection is next on my list of items to sell, as I think I can get 100.00 for the bike & 100 for the JP figues for it on craigslist...

I already looked into geting help through a program, but I can't, i'm auto denied cause I went through bankruptcy!! (hate my ex for that one!!!!!!!)...

If anyone knows of a group that'll help PLEASE post me the info!!!

Digi has enough mental issues cause of being passed around like a worthless piece of fluff. I cannot dump her at a shelter after shes come so far

    Okay, BREATHE.

First - I can't remember - did you get her from a rescue? If so, call them.

Second - you took her in AS a rescue, right. CALL THEM.

The rescues could help with medical treatment.

I would think you could do the deworming yourself with the meds.

Going to Google a bit, and will be back with an ETA.

Here is a forum where I saw a lot of Ontarians looking for low-cost Spay-Neuter, but they might know of other resources.

    Here's the thread I saw: http://www.pets.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=23961

Annex Vets was mentioned...maybe call them?

Otherwise, nothing much...there is the Farley Foundation, but it is for non-routine medical stuff.

I saw nothing on the Humane Society site either, BUT

Call them; a good pet store you know; the two links above; and rescues. (If I knew more about where you lived, I could find some). If they can't help, they will know who can!

Try calling a local feed store they may have some meds you can buy over the counter.
don't breed or buy while shelter dogs die....

    I have been frosted!

    Thanks Kfamr for the signature!

I'm only on for a few mins so this will be short...

I live in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. I can travel anywhere in Mississauga (there are a lot of little cities that are now part of Mississauga), Brampton, The west side of Toronto like North York & Etobicoke (which are both part of Toronto)... I can prob. travel to Oakville & Georgetown if I must (its far but I will go).

The vet that I quoted above is a couple of blocks from me on Bloor Street in Etobicoke (We are both on Bloor & inbetween Dixie & HWY 427.. just to give you a better pin point as to where I am. If you need my postal code or anything prive, I will PM it to you... I know I can trust you)

I sooo wish i could offer advice or help... I have neither.

Things will work out. They will.

Please, if your dog is arthritic look into getting it Elk Velvet Antler. Look up my posts on it, PM me, or look it up on a search engine; but please if you love your dog and want it to live many more years consider this option. I've seen so many posts on here about dogs needlessly suffering. I can't make a new post about EVA every time so this plea is going here. EVA also helps with other ailments such as anemia.

The best thing for tapes is praziquantel; it should be available without Rx. (It is in the US.)

    A mericle happened!!!

Digi has been spotted to see the vet by a friend!!! The hunt for the cheapest vet is whats going on right now!!

I'm so happy!!! Digi so deserves this!!! Shes been such a great puppy!! I don't know how anyone could call her NASTY & hate her (He asks me all the time on the phone how I can like that dog so much )...

How could anyone call this nasty is beyond me????

Look at her ears!! They are standing higher!!

    Yay for Digi!

Wow, that must be a friend who is loyal to you... doesn't like your dog, but still sticking with you on this. (Still, i think a friend would be more sensitive of your feelings.)

What do they think is nasty about her?! Personally i don't care for the feeling of shaved fur, but i don't hold that against the dog. Yeash.

Hmm... maybe if her ears stand all the way up in a few weeks maybe it means she has GSD in her.

Also, while searching for a low priced vet is understandable, search for a trust worthy one first. Contact rescues in the area and ask which one they use or recommend. Then from there go with the lowest priced. (Rescues put a LOT of dogs and kitties through a vet so they'll see mistakes really fast and if they're a good rescue will switch vets. Besides... wouldn't you rather support a vet who supports rescue? )

I was talking about 2 different people.. Person(A) is helping Digi.. Person(B) is the one who dumped Digi on me & thinks shes nasty & hates her

Good news for digi -- person 'A' must really think shes a cutie Seriously, how can you resist that cute face?

... and after going back and reading your post, it was a little confusing

also person 'B' can go take a long walk off a short pier directly into the skunky part of lake ontario in my opinon
